I stayed here for a few days before my Inca trek and a few days after. Good spot. Close to tourist areas and central plaza. Hotel owner was very helpful. They held our bags till we got back from our trek and had them waiting in our rooms. Very clean with mini fridge/ microwave in our room. I slept in... More

Our family was making plans in Peru on the fly. We were looking for a place to stay for parents and two tweens. We could not have been happier with our stay in the lovely oasis of El Mariscal. Elisabeth was wonderful from the moment we arrived until we had to race back with our forgotten room key. The room... More

We felt so well looked after at El Mariscal! Elisabeth and her staff are absolutely wonderful and went out of their way to make sure we were well and happy, and to help us with our travels. The hotel felt very safe too. The only minus is that the soundproofing between rooms is not great. It could probably be fixed... More

We booked this hotel for 5 nights and was really pleased with our stay. Elizabeth (owner) was fabulous, she could not do enough for us, she called tour operators, booked taxi's and even kept our luggage whilst we completed the 4 day Inca Trail. Breakfast is omelette, fresh bread, juice and coffee, perfect way to start the day. We had... More

This is a cute little hotel which is conveniently located 10 - 15mins (walking) away from bars/clubs, restaurants, Plaza de Armas, San Blas, Sacsayhuaman, cathedrals and museums. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. I had to leave the hotel at 5am for my trip to Machu Picchu and the staff made and brought breakfast (complimentary) to my room promptly... More

We have stayed 3 nights + 1 night when we returned from the trekking Machu Picchu! The rooms have space and are clean and spotless. Amazing service, very very nice, good breakfast and 15 minutes walking to plaza de armas, but with a narrow street going up :) I would return immediately there!

El Mariscal is amazing! Comfortable & cozy beds, hot showers and delicious complimentary breakfast. My friend and I planned on staying one night as we were starting our trek through the mountains the next day. We had to leave at 330 in the morning and the hotel readied breakfast for us at 3:00! We ended up staying there for a... More

We were planning on staying at El mariscal based on the shining reviews, as part of a 3 month trip to South America. We booked through booking.com, and obviously while planning the stays of a long term trip the itinerary needs tweaking, and accommodation dates have to be changed. I am a frequent traveller, and have had no problems with... More

El Mariscal was excellent - newly refurbished, very nice rooms with large bed and hot shower, modern decorated large communal area and breakfast room, safe and quiet neighborhood only 10min walk from the main plaza (slightly uphill, so if you have problems with walking or encounter altitude sickness take a taxi). The staff - and particularly Elizabeth - were fantastic;... More

The moment we stepped foot in El Mariscal, we felt so welcome! Beautiful rooms, wonderful service - felt just like home! Complimentary breakfast was delicious, fresh and with a beautiful view. Our host was the most hospitable and welcoming. Slightly outside the city center, but an easy 10min walk to the main square.
