My husband and I and my daughter and her boyfriend spent several nights here before and after our Inka Trail trek. I didn't know what to expect from the hotels in Peru. I can tell you that La Casona ranks with the top hotels I have ever stayed at anywhere in the world. It is the private, personal connection and... More

We stayed two nights separated by a trip to Machu Picchu at La Casona. It is a beautiful hotel that feels like a private residence. Without an open door, it's exclusive and secluded yet close to everything in town. I was ill my final night in Peru and thankfully the staff made sure to bring me tea and to call... More

We spent a total of three nights at this property during our trip to Peru. It was, in a word, luxurious. La Casona probably ranks as one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The hotel is richly appointed in both the public areas and in each of the rooms. Staff is extremely attentive and makes every effort... More

La Casona is simply the best hotel we have ever stayed at. When you arrive on the nice plaza nazarena, you would never guess that the large door is hiding such a gem. But as soon as the door opened, I felt immediately under the charm of this beautiful Spanish house. It opens on a splendid courtyard, beautifully lit and... More

My husband and I stayed at three Inkaterra Properties while in Peru, they were all fantastic, however La Casona was our favorite. My opinion this small boutique (approx 13 suite) stands it ground with the larger Orient Express hotels the Monasterio & Palacio Nazarenas across the street. If you are looking for a quiet small luxury hotel don’t look any... More

It is hard to describe a place that feels like your own home, with full time help and some of the most charming and luxurious surroundings I can remember. My brother and I arrived late from a VERY difficult drive, after dark, from the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. We were very tired, not feeling well from the altitude, and... More

If you like the feel of a small luxury boutique hotel, w/ big suites (11 of them!). La Casona is a unique pick, as it's situated in the same plaza as two of the most affluent luxury hotels in Cusco, the Monasterio & Palacio Nazarenas. I've been a travel specialist at CAT Travel for over 7 years, having lived and... More

Previous reviews have caught most of the spectacularly unique aspects of the hotel such as its small room count coupled with large numbers of highly trained staff, beautiful restoration, location etc., so I will skip to what went right (mostly) and wrong with my stay and what seems like a quirk of the chain. - Negatives: our first experience with... Dear guest, We really appreciate taking the time to write about your stay with us. We are very sorry about the inconvenience of the transportation; as it is not a common case, we were able to get a fast report about it. During that day, the local government decided to check the paperwork of all touristic transportations around a well-known... More

Our group of 5 people recently spent 3 nights at this gem of a hotel. There are only 11 rooms and you are treated like an honored guest in someone's home. The exterior door is always closed, but as soon as you arrive, the door is opened to welcome you. The rooms are very large and comfortable and the bathrooms... More

We chose this hotel for a three night stay in Cusco based on previous reviews and it fully lived up to our expectations. The location is excellent. The hotel sits in a very pretty historic square (Plaza Nazerenas) just 200 metres from the main city square. Dating from around 1530, this intimate residence has been restored and furnished to a... Official Description (provided by the hotel):
La Casona, Cusco's first boutique hotel, reflects the city's melange of cultures and traditions. A striking 16th century mansion - perhaps the first Spanish construction in Cusco - was built over the palace of Inca Manco Capac. This national monument is now an exclusive hotel located in the beautiful Plaza de Las Nazarenas, at the heart of the historical city. Inkaterra has meticulously created an 11-suite manor house, maintaining the original design and architecture around two open terraces. ... more   less
