Hotel Taypikala is located on a very narrow side street in the historic district of Cusco. The Plaza de Armas is about a 10-minute walk away from the hotel. The hotel is an oasis of calm if you are busy exploring ancient and sacred sites all day or shopping in the markets. The main craft market is just over two... More

Rooms are clean and tidy but no central heating -- you're going to have to use the provided space heater which takes awhile to heat up. That being said, it does keep the room warm. Lots of coca tea for altitude sickness and pretty good service. Although the location is near the Temple of the Sun it is a walk... More

We stayed in this hotel twice as part of a G adventure trip. The first stay was not so great as we had a room at the front of the hotel. This made it very noisy. The second time round we had a room at the back and enjoyed two good nights of rest. On both visits hot water was... More

An average stay, typical shortcomings - no hot water in the evenings, internet spotty. However, located in quiet alley, yet close to main square. Breakfast had lots of options, coffee not so good. Hot tea with cocoa leaves to deal with altitude, oxygen as well.

My wife and I stayed 5 nights in Hotel Taypikala before we went to Machu Picchu, and one night on our way back. We found a high standard of cleanliness, a generous breakfast and very helpful staff. Although we didn't need it, we noticed that there was oxygen for those suffering from altitude sickness. The location was wonderfully quiet and... More

We stayed at the Taypikala in Cisco for 3 nights on our way to and back from the Inca Trail. For the first stay, we had a very spacious room with a jet bath which was cold due to its size but nice and quiet. The second time we had to switch rooms due to some cleanliness issues and received... More
