This hostel is very close to the Plaza de Armas and on the same street as many of the local trekking companies. The rooms are set around an attractive covered courtyard where breakfast is served. There is no heating in the rooms, but plenty of blankets and duvets are provided. Each room has an ensuite shower room and there is... More

Had a one bedroom on the bottom floor, it was extremely cold, and very damp, the toilet would hardly flush. It's also very noisy. You have to get fresh towels every day, as it will be more wet the next day than when you used it. Staff was not very friendly and tried everything to rip me off. Make sure... More

If you are in town for a trek and/or to visit local sites this hostal is well placed near the various travel agents and the main points of departure for buses taking you out of Cusco. The rooms and clean with hot water, towels, clean linen and a decent breakfast included. Lovely staff who let us in at all hours... More

We stayed at Hostal Suecia on our trip to Peru stopping there before and after a trip to the sacred valley. They kept our extra bags for us which was super helpful. The rooms are simple but nice and the rooms on the top floor have great views of the city- I'd recommend those if you can get one. Water... More

For 120 soles (£26) a night we got a very pleasant double bed room with plenty of blankets for the cold weather. The shower was hot which is often not the case in Peru. Breakfast was a small omelette, fresh fruit juice, bread and jam with tea and coffee. It was fresh and tasty. The wifi was very variable and... More

Rented a room for three people and a single. Larger room had two singles and a double and was 200 soles, the single was 40 soles. Rooms were comfortable and the only downside was that being on the ground floor meant being subject to noise from the coo on room/ central courtyard. Staff are super friendly. Breakfast was mate de... More

We arrived here after completing the Inca Trail and it was a great hostal to recover. The hostal is in a great location next to the plaza and is very secure. Would recommend for couples or anyone seeking a relaxing hostel. Room was clean and the bathroom was the nicest we had seen in a hostel (stayed in a double... More

By accident we stayed in this hotel. Although iT is really close to the main plaza it's really quiet. An oasis of tranquility... The owner was really friendly and helpful. It is a cheap place to stay, with a great shower and a really pleasant bed. A real recommedation.

I looked at loads of hostels and hotels for Cusco - I wasn't looking for budget but value for money. I found it at Hostel Suecia 1. Considering some of the hotels I looked at were 4-6 times the price, I can't see they would have been worth it. Don't get me wrong - this was far from perfect, but... More

I am always dismayed when someone books an inexpensive hostel then complains about a lack of frills or amenities. We preceded our stay here at a very high end luxury hotel, and while I was none to pleased to leave it behind, I was not at all put out by this establishment. It is, after all, a hostel. There was...
