For 120 soles (£26) a night we got a very pleasant double bed room with plenty of blankets for the cold weather. The shower was hot which is often not the case in Peru. Breakfast was a small omelette, fresh fruit juice, bread and jam with tea and coffee. It was fresh and tasty. The wifi was very variable and... More

Rented a room for three people and a single. Larger room had two singles and a double and was 200 soles, the single was 40 soles. Rooms were comfortable and the only downside was that being on the ground floor meant being subject to noise from the coo on room/ central courtyard. Staff are super friendly. Breakfast was mate de... More

We arrived here after completing the Inca Trail and it was a great hostal to recover. The hostal is in a great location next to the plaza and is very secure. Would recommend for couples or anyone seeking a relaxing hostel. Room was clean and the bathroom was the nicest we had seen in a hostel (stayed in a double... More

By accident we stayed in this hotel. Although iT is really close to the main plaza it's really quiet. An oasis of tranquility... The owner was really friendly and helpful. It is a cheap place to stay, with a great shower and a really pleasant bed. A real recommedation.

I looked at loads of hostels and hotels for Cusco - I wasn't looking for budget but value for money. I found it at Hostel Suecia 1. Considering some of the hotels I looked at were 4-6 times the price, I can't see they would have been worth it. Don't get me wrong - this was far from perfect, but... More

I am always dismayed when someone books an inexpensive hostel then complains about a lack of frills or amenities. We preceded our stay here at a very high end luxury hotel, and while I was none to pleased to leave it behind, I was not at all put out by this establishment. It is, after all, a hostel. There was... It is a one-star hotel. It was recommended to me by our tour operator and I regret I've stayed there. First, they didn't care to provide the rooms I specifically requested (after reading reviews here) even though I made a reservation 6 months in advance. Not only that, one of the rooms was a one-bed room (we were a party... More

Though cute, this place was absurdly cold -- so much that we decided one night was enough. The staff was mostly nice, but there was a lot of confusion over arranging a cab and trying to donate a book to their lending library. There are far better places is Cusco you'd be better served by... unless you speak excellent Spanish... More

We were delighted upon entering our room at Hostal Suecia 1. First of all, this was our first nice place to stay in a week (we had been "roughing it" at backpacker hostels through Peru), so this place seemed all the more heavenly! I was traveling through Peru with my husband and brother, and we had the family room. When... More

This hostel is tiny with very few rooms but it is right off the Plaza de Armas. The rooms are spartan, small but clean and I believe they all have private bathrooms. I think I paid 80 or 90 Soles for a single room. Tina the manager is extremely nice and helpful. Her English is not great but if you... More
