I am from South African and visited Peru during Oct / Nov 2009. Our reception at Hostal Pension Alemana was very friendly and welcoming. The service was excellent at all times and a personal touch was given to breakfast each day when the food was delivered with a smile. The Hostal and accommodation is very clean and tidy and I... more

Although we were'nt booked another hotel in Cusco booked us and it suited us absolutely perfectly in every respect, friendly & helpful. Never realised that hostels could be of such a high standard. It's great to see that you can extend and get more bookings now. Small great hostels like yours just helped to make our trip even more fantastic.... more

If the hotel would refresh their bed covers (there plenty in Peru to choose from) and their curtains it would be a great step. It is clean but it smells old. Also our room did not have much of privacy as our window was in the passage to the next room. If you are having problem with altitude not the... more

Correctness and hospitality is their credo. We found at arrival that the price we agreed upon in advance was lowered due to a special offer we were not aware of. Rooms are fantastic and the location, upper part of SanBlas area, has an incredible view on the entire city. Rooms are modern, clean and well maintained. Breakfast is great with... more

I was concerned when booking a hotel in Cusco that I would not get somewhere with hot water or heating. We got Lucky with Alemana. The rooms were clean, warm and the view was amazing. Breakfast was great and the tea and coffee service good. more

Located away from the hectic main plaza area in the San Blas neighborhood. We stayed a total of five nights on two occasions and found the staff friendly and courteous. When my wife experienced altitude sickness, they staff summoned medical help and supplied supplemental oxygen and the situation was quickly resolved. All rooms and public areas are spotlessly clean and... more

Lovely place with a pretty small garden, very nice rooms with heater and duvets for chilly nights, excellent breakfasts and complimentary fruit and tea/coffee all day. We received a warm and very informative welcome, the service was impeccable and very helpful, and the place seems to be very well-run. We liked the location at San Blas, away from the more... more

We had a such a wonderful time in Cusco and on the Inka trail. Our stay in the Pension Alemana has made the trip an even more wonderful experience. We like the location because it is close the the Main plaza, but off the busy and noisy streets. The staff provided excellent service except they mis-placed our baggage one time.... more

Before going on our trip to Peru, my friend and I we had a hard time finding on the internet the right places to stay. Every hostal offers a lot and you can't really be sure about it. Most places where we were staying in Peru were poor compared to what they present on their web sides. In Pension Alemana... more

Lovely place to stay in Cuzco -- it quickly felt like our home in the city. The front desk staff always asked our plans for the following morning and were happy to provide a wakeup call (it was always 10 minutes late, but it was nice of them to try, and who doesn't use their own alarm clock, anyway), prepare... more
