Small, quiet, comfortable, clean, simple accommodations in a location near the heart of Cusco. The staff was kind and helpful; breakfast satisfactory. We enjoyed our stay, a pleasant refuge, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

We stayed here two different times when we were upgrading from poorer accommodations. Breakfast was included and very good...had enough for Vegans! Steep steps but we didn't mind. They would probably carry your bags if you needed it! One of our rooms gave us a view of most of Cusco and it was beautiful at night! Very clean, no perfume... More

Arriving at the end of a street the taxi driver says, "Just up there". So if you have difficulty climbing stairs this is not the place for you. Otherwise it is a very quaint clean place to stay only a couple of blocks from Plaza de Armas Cuzco. Friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are sparse...meaning limited storage areas, simple... More

We had stayed there for two nights and had two different rooms (we had left for a trip and then came back to the hotel). Suggestions: 1. Good location-close to the Plaza de Armas and away from street traffic 2. You get used to the climb to the hotel 3. Breakfast-ok. I've had better at the Casa Andina 4. Rooms-clean... More

Although the hotel is up about 20 steps from the main road off the plaza, it is well worth it. Well maintained & small, peaceful, yet only 5 min. walk to Plaza. Breakfast in morning, coca hot tea in lobby (for altitude adjustment), English-speaking front desk staff, clean. You could stay at Hotel Monasterio for $500/nt. Or here for $100...its... More

After almost two weeks in Peru struggling with altitude sickness and exhausting uphill climbs practically everywhere we went, the last thing I needed was to arrive at a hotel that took a rather long flight of steps to get to. Imagine my frustration when our car pulled up at the bottom of a stone staircase and dropped us off. Thankfully,... More

Most hotels have one, a bit like the theatre seat that is behind a pillar and obstructs the stage... The hotel lobby is up 39 steps, and the person below who made the comment about 'no more than you would find in a Mall', was obviously not having a problem with altitude sickness, even after staying there for 7 nights... This little, cozy hotel was perfect for my solo trip. It was just 2 blocks off of the Plazas de Armas and within the San Blas artisan district. There were 2 flights of stairs to the front door and more to your room, which tries one's high altitude breathing and endurance. It was worth it for the view of the... More

1st off, I see some complaints about the steps to the hotel. It’s the equivalent of 2 flights of steps, like in a typical mall. If you’re complaining about that you shouldn’t be in Peru; everything is steps. Everywhere you go you’ll be going up and down hill. The staff does not speak English but they at least try to... More

We stayed one night here and yes, there are a flight of stairs to climb before reaching the entrance of this place. They served coca tea upon arrival. It's a nice, clean place though and the breakfast buffet was okay (juices, coffee, yogurt, cereal, scrambled eggs, sausage, cold cuts, fruit). There was a portable heater in the room as it... More
