The service at this place was phenomenal. The B+B arranged to have us picked up at the airport. I was hesitant to accept the offer because I had heard that these shuttles were operated by the tour agencies, and they could spend hours trying to sell you their tours. The one affiliated with Corihuasi was respectful. They briefly described the... more

We stayed for 3 nights in September '08. It is close to the Plaza de Armas, the main square. The upper floor of rooms have nive views of Cusco and the hills. The building is cool, as it seems older (cobblestone, wood, etc.) without any sense of being outdated or unsafe. There are fair bit of steps to get to... more

This is a very sweet hotel near all the main attractions in Cusco. They have amazing views of the city since they are perched on a hill. My husband and I stayed 2 nights at the Corihuasi. We were told it means "Gold House" in Quechua. We stayed here while we got used to the altitude before hiking in the... more

Rooms vary in size and view. Ours, #9, had a table with one chair, wooden floors, oil radiator, nice window, but view only if you step up to look out, balcony shared with one other room, with outstanding views, room safe, high beam ceiling, bedstands with reading lamps, TV with minimal channels. We also stayed one night in #20, the... more

I prebooked this place over the web and asked for a double room. Make sure you ask for a Matrimonial otherwise you get two singles. Once the bed situation was resolved we got to sleep on the most uncomfortable bed ever! The mattress was totally wrecked and we ended up rolling in to each other or clinging on to the... more

Cusco is like no other place on earth! It's amazing in its architecture and the altitude makes it so that you can gaze upon snowcovered peaks when it's 70 degrees out that day. This charming hostal is located very near to the main plaza in Cusco. Spring for the panoramic room. It's only like $10 more per night, but it's... more

I will never forget this place! The people here were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were lovely. We were very very lucky and we were placed in large room with panoramic views of Cuzco. Locationwise it's not too far from the main square so it was great. They also have safes for your money/passports. The best part of this... more

Hostal Corihuasi is a lovely maze of a place full of stairs and local character, about two blocks uphill from the main plaza. "Hostal" is not the same thing as a hostel in the U.S. or Europe, by the way - no sharing of rooms, and no having to go down the hall to the bathroom - just an inexpensive... more

I booked because I read about the great view from room #1. It was nice. We could see the Plaza, school kids learning dances in the courtyards, and the hills outside of town. Otherwise it wasn’t anything special (though we were probably spoiled by the other, more expensive places where we had been). The hotel had all the basic necessities... more
