Lonely Planet warned of the brisk uphill walk, and they were right. Take it slowly at the high altitude. But it's worth it, because the hotel is just three blocks from the Plaza de Armas and has wonderful views of the whole city. Rooms are spread throughout rambling older building. more

One of the best things about Corihuasi is the location, on an extremely pleasant and atmospheric side of the old city. It is somewhat of a long walk uphill from teh Plaza de Armas, and there are a huge variety of rooms in the place; all the ones we saw were very good, warm, clean, etc. Yes, Room 20 has... more

Had a nice breakfast (included) and most rooms had good heat, and they always seemed to have good hot water. Cable TV, wireless internet in the lobby, a good value. Cuzco is one of the more expensive locations in Peru. We had two great rooms, but my mom who was traveling with me had a nice single one night, but... more

Corihuasi is an excellent hostel in a perfect location for visiting Cuzco. They provided transportation to and from the airport, which was an added bonus! It is in close walking distance to Plaza de Armas. Beware, the return walk uphill to Corihuasi can be exhausting if you are not prepared. However, the narrow Incan streets, dotted by inviting restaurants and... more

The service at this place was phenomenal. The B+B arranged to have us picked up at the airport. I was hesitant to accept the offer because I had heard that these shuttles were operated by the tour agencies, and they could spend hours trying to sell you their tours. The one affiliated with Corihuasi was respectful. They briefly described the... more

We stayed for 3 nights in September '08. It is close to the Plaza de Armas, the main square. The upper floor of rooms have nive views of Cusco and the hills. The building is cool, as it seems older (cobblestone, wood, etc.) without any sense of being outdated or unsafe. There are fair bit of steps to get to... more

This is a very sweet hotel near all the main attractions in Cusco. They have amazing views of the city since they are perched on a hill. My husband and I stayed 2 nights at the Corihuasi. We were told it means "Gold House" in Quechua. We stayed here while we got used to the altitude before hiking in the... more

Rooms vary in size and view. Ours, #9, had a table with one chair, wooden floors, oil radiator, nice window, but view only if you step up to look out, balcony shared with one other room, with outstanding views, room safe, high beam ceiling, bedstands with reading lamps, TV with minimal channels. We also stayed one night in #20, the... more

I prebooked this place over the web and asked for a double room. Make sure you ask for a Matrimonial otherwise you get two singles. Once the bed situation was resolved we got to sleep on the most uncomfortable bed ever! The mattress was totally wrecked and we ended up rolling in to each other or clinging on to the... more

Cusco is like no other place on earth! It's amazing in its architecture and the altitude makes it so that you can gaze upon snowcovered peaks when it's 70 degrees out that day. This charming hostal is located very near to the main plaza in Cusco. Spring for the panoramic room. It's only like $10 more per night, but it's... more
