My partner and I arrived here really late almost at 11 PM on our return from the Inca Trail. The bed was very comfortable, the showers had warm water, we were in need of that and Cusco is very cold during June. The breakfast includes coffee, bread, egg and a natural juice freshly made. It was what we needed after... More

WOW! I understand some of the minor critiques in previous reviews, but Miguel is an excellent host who is working hard to make this one of the best hostels/places to stay in Cusco. He and Viviana treated me like absolute gold on both of my stays there (before and after Salkantay trek). As long as you love a quiet dog... More

We arrived in Cusco for only 1 night, and had luckily arranged for a taxi pick-up through the hostel (this is worth doing - cost is 20 soles, but taxis at the airport will harass you and quote much more). It being the day of Inti Raimi, many streets were closed to traffic (including the one running at the back... More

With a name that sounds almost Australian, this place has wide appeal to an interesting cross section of people. There are lots of thirty somethings couples, as well as just graduated college students, families with older teens and a scattering of solo travelers , young and old. Many are backpackers heading for one of the Inca trails, but there are plenty... More

Positives: Great views from the room! Helpful staff. Walk the cobbled streets down to the plaza. Walk down to San Blas district. Walk down to the market. Not a busy area and is across from San Cristobal church. Can take a taxi up to the hostel if you don't want the exercise. Pisco Sour is now my favorite drink! I... More

After reading the reviews on TA, I was confident booking a room with Wara Wara. However, Wara Wara did not meet my expectations and is sadly overrated. Wara Wara is a budget hostal within walking distance of Plaza de Armas. It is near the top of a steep hill next to San Cristobal Cathedral. Trust the reviews: this hill is... More

Dear Christopher: Thank you so much for your detailed report. Even when your review is so complete, there are some important things that you are not mentioning. You are very clear saying the 2 blocks uphill are “a monster”, but it would be nice of you to mention that anybody has the option to take a taxi, from the main... More

I picked Hostal Wara Wara because of its convenient location to Saqsaywaman and Plaza de Armas. It's close to the plaza, but not too close because I'm a light sleeper. Looking at Google Maps, I thought Resbalosa and Amargura were just ordinary streets, but they're really long, steep staircases. I guess they're not too bad if you're in shape, but... More

This is a great B&B that overlooks the city of Cusco. It is a slight walk up hill but the views and value are worth it for the care and comfort. Immediately after booking I received and email from the owners asking if I would like them to arrange a cab from the airport. When I arrived, they made me... More

A quaint little B&B nested on the top of the hill next to San Cristobal Cathedral. Clean and have fantastic view both from the balcony and their main room with a view. Couple of mix ups but it got sorted in the end. So no big issues. Value for your money. Walking distance to the main square (uphill when coming... More

This is a great place and Miguel is a fantastic host. We stayed here three times, with trips to the Amazon and Machu Picchu between. We were able to leave our bags each time without a problem. Breakfast is simple but filling - eggs, smoothie, fruit, bread, tea, sometimes fruit cake. The location is great and the view of the... More
