Small but cozy room, clean, good location, Internet in front of the room, hot water, hair-dryer and very cheap, we didn't expect more :-)

This was one of our favorite hotels in Peru! The staff was exceptional. Before we arrived, they were able to accommodate a last-minute change to the reservation without any difficulty. During our stay, they always went out of their way to answer our questions and provide recommendations on places to eat, transportation, etc. The room was perfect, very clean and... More

I have stayed at Orquidea Real Hostal perhaps 6 - 8 times since 2007, and I have also stayed in other hotels in Cuzco for comparison. My daughter and I stayed there in 2009 until my wife arrived, then we all moved to another "upscale" hotel, to accommodate my wife's passion for upscale hotels, but when my wife left Cuzco,... More

I stayed at this Hostel (hotel) on three separate nights. The beds were comfortable, the shower was hot, the lock on the door worked, I had clean towels and the breakfast was nice....what more could you ask for? The View from the breakfast room overlooks the entire city. The hotel is only 3 block from the Plaza so you can... More

We stayed at the Orquidea Real for 3 separate nights as our base hotel. The staff was wonderful and extremely friendly and attentive. The young staff all spoke English and graciously worked with our 'work in progress' Spanish. Our room was small, but well kept and clean. Our beds were comfortable with nice down comforters to keep us warm. We... More

I stayed at this hotel as part of a package from Gateway travel. Taking into account that Cusco suffered a terrible rain season at the begining of 2010, this hotel (hostal = hotel not hostel as indicated by other guests) needs major renovations before it charges the rates that it is asking for right now. I stayed there for three... More

This is a hotel built on inca foundations, that is very nice. The veiw of Cusco was nice, and the breakfast was good. For some people hiking up the stairs is hard, and the altitude can cause problems. When we came only our group stayed in the hotel and some rooms were better than others. I had one cold shower,... Overall, this was a great place! The location was perfect, close to San Blas district and around the corner from the Plaza des Armas. Got a little noisy at night in a few rooms and it was really cold at first but the space heaters did the job and I ended up way too warm! Smaller rooms and bathroms, all... More

this place reminds of a hostel built on top of a hostel - but very charming and great day staff. The facilty was no 5 star hotel, but it met our needs. The basic breakfast of eggs, bread, and jam was pretty good. The OJ was fresh and the coffee tasty. The day front desk staff speaks english and extremely... More

This hostal was booked for me as a part of a package with Peru Gateway Travel. It is my understanding that in Peru, "hostal" is the word used to designate a guesthouse or bed & breakfast. It's simple, decent lodging about two blocks from the Plaza de Armas in Cusco. For those who have not (yet) acclimated to the altitude,... More
