Overall, this was a great place! The location was perfect, close to San Blas district and around the corner from the Plaza des Armas. Got a little noisy at night in a few rooms and it was really cold at first but the space heaters did the job and I ended up way too warm! Smaller rooms and bathroms, all... more

this place reminds of a hostel built on top of a hostel - but very charming and great day staff. The facilty was no 5 star hotel, but it met our needs. The basic breakfast of eggs, bread, and jam was pretty good. The OJ was fresh and the coffee tasty. The day front desk staff speaks english and extremely... more

This hostal was booked for me as a part of a package with Peru Gateway Travel. It is my understanding that in Peru, "hostal" is the word used to designate a guesthouse or bed & breakfast. It's simple, decent lodging about two blocks from the Plaza de Armas in Cusco. For those who have not (yet) acclimated to the altitude,... more

I did not expect too much from a hostel. Stayed there for 3 days. But no hot showers for 2 days. The hair dryer did not work at all. After a 4-day Inca Trail hiking, the hot shower would really make the difference between a tent and a hostel. But the hostel failed to provide the basic supply. There was a... more

This little hotel is a fantastic place to stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are both friendly and helpful. Our room had a view out over Cuzco that was simply stunning. The fact that it is also only about three blocks off the Plaza d'Armas certainly also helped. The included breakfast was adequate, and the only... more

The hostel on arrival provided us with a late breakfast as we had been travelleing. The rooms were clean and well furnished - the building was not brilliant but it was within the heritage of the area. Not really suitable for wheel chair access. We wanted to do a tour of the surrounding areas - there are bus tours run,... more

This is not a Hilton, but a very nice cozy hotel (although a bit squeaky) with a terrific friendly staff. Very close to Plaza de Armas, and clean rooms and bathrooms with hot water. Highly recommend! more

We stayed in two different rooms in this hotel during our comings and goings through Cusco. Both times on the first floor. Because this is a rather 'rustic' hotel, you hear every footstep in the rooms upstairs. There is a LOT of creaking with every footstep. (Tough if you like to sleep in.) The water temperature in the showers is... more

This hotel had a pretty good location near the square and Cusco and also in the middle of San Blas. We had a mostly comfortable stay but there were a few issues. The first room we were in had a window facing a street and allowed in a ton of noise. We woke up several times that night. Fortunately the... more

The Orquidea Real is a lovely hotel in a good location. The staff were helpful and always nice. I was skeptical of what I would find once I got there because of the low price but the room was clean and of a good standard and the continental breakfast was also good. I would say the 2 star rating is... more
