I stayed at Hotel Ruinas for two nights during a recent trip to Peru. This place was excellent in all respects. It is centrally located and conveniently close to the Plaza des Armas and numerous good restaurants and interesting shops. The room was spacious and nicely furnished and had beds that were quite comfortable. Of the five hotels we stayed... More

Stayed four nights in order to get acclimated to altitude.Centrally located to main square and shopping. Small convenience store and restaurants directly across street.Beautiful lobby with clean, attractive rooms.Friendly staff. Ask for room on the exterior for view.Windows open for air.Would not recommend interior rooms that face atrium. Great breakfast of eggs, bacon, fruit, assorted breads, yogurt and cereals.Breakfast starts at... More

We stayed here for 2 nights: 1 night before our trip to Machu Picchu and 1 night afterwards. The location was close to the main plaza, restaurants and shops. There was a small grocery store across the street to pick up water and drinks. Our room overlooked the atrium, so there wasn't much ventilation. Luckily we were on the 3rd... More

Check in is from 10am, check out is at 9am. Breakfast was served from 4.45am (I think - it was definitely 4 something!) so even if you are leaving early you can get some food. Breakfast was average. A small selection of fruit, breads, croissants, ham, cheese etc.. There were scrambled eggs and sausages but I wasn't keen on these.... More

We got to the hotel at 4:30am and they took us up to our room. Our first impression was that it smelt funky. We got settled in, and the more I looked around I noticed there were hairs all over: on the bed, pillows, etc. When I went into the bathroom I almost fell over from the smell! It was... More

We recently stayed in this hotel both before and after we hiked the Inca trail. Our first room was much better than the second since it had a window facing outside, the second room had a window that faced the atrium and provided no fresh air so the room was incredibly stuff. Overall the rooms were fine, but nothing fancy.... More

The rooms at the hotel are OK. Not fabulous but not horrible. There is no elevator so being on the third floor in a high elevation climate was exhausting but do-able for most people. The staff was excellent, always helpful and wearing multiple hats so you know they are working their tails off. The food was actually really good but... More

Centrally located (about 3 blocks from the main plaza and a 10-minute walk to the Sun Temple), Hotel Ruinas makes it easy to explore Cusco on foot. Very cute lobby/atrium area, which our room overlooked (can get a bit loud at times but an interesting view for sure). The rooms themselves are pretty basic, though our triple was quite roomy... Great hotel with a fantastic staff, within walking distance of main square. A true Peruvian place to stay without sacrificing creature comforts. The staff handled all of my questions during my almost 2 week stay in Cusco. I would most definitely stay here again and recommend to my friends who want a place that is quaint, accessible to everything, is... More
