Truly charmingly rustic - not rustic as in 'a dump'. Our room was a really nice, two floor suite that faced the mountains. The location was great for walking, lots of great stuff nearby and the two times we took cabs, the hotel quickly arranged for them. The service was a step above expected. The price was also great. This hotel is in a very quiet area of Cusco, yet is very conveniently within walking distance of everything. We had one of the rooms with the sleeping loft upstairs and the sofa bed downstairs so had a place for relax in the room after a day of sightseeing. We were able to have the windows open at night, which... More

This hotel was a warm and comfortable treat after hiking Machu Picchu the previous day. There's a crackling fire in the bar when you arrive and the rooms are rustic and gorgeous. Our room had a loft where the kids were excited to sleep. The downstairs bed was kind size, fluffy and down right dreamy. Loved this hotel!

Booked this hotel (through hotels.com) as our night of rest after returning from our trek to Machu Picchu. A disastrous shuttle experience put us behind schedule for our arrival to the hotel well after midnight. We were greeted by the concierge who showed us to our room. We did experience some difficulties with the hot water and heat in the... More

Our room was beautiful and rustic with a sleeping loft. The beds were super comfortable, but our king room had 2 twins pushed together. Maybe we weren't clear when making our online reservation. Other than that, it was terrific. Breakfast was very good - cereals, breads, yogurt, juices, freshly prepared eggs, fresh fruit, etc.; the bar is cozy (nice bartender!);... More

Great location, close to everything. We stayed in total 5 nights and always got rooms on the second floor (more quiet). All hotel employees excel at great customer service! The rooms have a nice Peruvian design. My room was cheaper because we did not have a TV and is 2 story room. Downstairs is the bar where you should order... More

We stayed there a night before we went to Machu Pichu and a night after. The hotel is great and has an authentic feel to it. While it is definitely in the center of town, it is a little higher up the hill --5 minutes-- which gives it more quiet and a generally elevated feel. Two things stood out to... More

I stay in Arqueologo for 5 days and the place was perfect the manager Javier was very attentions and always making sure everything is going as we wanted. The place is rustic which make you feel more in the city environment. Great complementary breakfast also had a amazing bar with a very helpful and friendly bartender ( I don't remember... More

I just spent 4 enjoyable days at Hotel Arqueologo, Cuzco, Peru. When the taxi driver first deposited me at the entrance, I was not sure it was the correct place. No marble entry hall with nondescript modern furniture but an open cloister-like courtyard with unusual furniture, plants, pictures and archeological pottery and other pieces. Throughout my stay the staff was... More

Classy and quaint. Our room was a beautiful duplex room just off of the main courtyard. The staff was really helpful and friendly. The sent to car to pick us up from the airport and we ended up hiring the same driver to take us into the Sacred Valley. The breakfast was great. The location was perfect, we were able... More
