The Hotel Arqueologo is situated on a quiet street near the Plaza of the Nazerene. It is within easy walking distance of the Plaza de Armes, the main square of the city. It takes about 1 minute to walk to the Museum of PreColumbian Art and the MAP cafe' which served us the best meal of the trip. In house,... more

We stayed at Hotel Arqueologo for a total of four nights, two nights before our trip to Machu Picchu, and two nights prior to our return to Lima. This was a great place to stay. The staff was great and the facilities were top notch. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. They had a place to store some of our... more

I arrived to the hotel at 7:30 am and was promptly escorted to my room. After sleeping for several hours, I came downstairs and officially checked-in. The bed was ridiculously comfortable with the thickest comforter!! It really was heavenly. The bathroom was very nice(updated) with a shower big enough for 4 or 5 people! No tub, though. The room was... more

I stayed for 3 nights with my 14-year old son (before and after trek to Machu Picchu). The room was charming -- 2 twin beds upstairs, small room downstairs, small but modern, adequate bathroom. The beds were REALLY comfortable -- nice linens, featherbed. Service was marginal. I asked for an alarm clock and was told all the rooms had them... more

Everything about this hotel was perfect. From the quiet rooms to the spotless linens, to the excellent restaurant. The restaurant even served organic foods at the breakfast buffet. Te staff was as friendly as one could ever hope for. Bring your own alarm clock if you need one though. You might not hear the wake up door knock (no room... more

Just returned from a 2 week trip to Peru. Or first week was spent in Cusco, Peru where we stayed at Hotel Arqueologo. They were so accommodating for us sea-level dwelling people. We were given free coco tea all day long and a free pisco sour to introduce us to the area. The free breakfast we received every morning again... more

This hotel was our favorite place that we stayed while on vacation in Peru. We stayed there twice (once for one night and again for two nights) and each time we had a great experience. The rooms were very nice and comfortable, and had heaters which is a definite must in Cuzco. The first room that we stayed in was... more

We spent two nights in this hotel. First night was in two storeyd double room, absolutely with absolutely wonderful decoration, french window and fantastic beds. The second was in a normal double room with a king size bed. Extremely delicious breakfast with a wide choice of meals including several sorts of tea (not packeted but normal). No pool but for... more

We went to Cusco for some days off, it was very difficult to find nice hotels by the web. I found this hotel and in the pictures it seemed very nice, however when I got there it did not meet my expectations. It is clean and nice but rooms are very small. It does not have either telephone nor TV... more

We are a thirty-something couple from Los Angeles, California. We had been traveling through South America for a month when we stayed at this hotel, both before and after hiking Machu Picchu. The hotel is on a quiet street up a moderate hill that is close to the Plaza de Armas (at most, a five minute walk), near restaurants, sites,... more
