We stayed almost a week at Hostal Marani, which is conveniently located - close to main plaza. We did get a very large room upstairs (no 25) which was nice. The room gets very cold at night and heaters cost US$6.5 extra per night. We just used the blankets provided, which were plenty and warm. Shower was warm most of... more

It takes a long time to check in and check out from this place. Plan to spend 15-20 minutes waiting both times. The rooms are clean. The bathrooms looked recently remodeled. Ran out of hot water during my shower, so it's best to be quick. Seems like there was lots of noise in this place, constantly waking us up. Breakfast... more

I'm so happy that we booked this hotel when we stayed in Cusco. There was a transit strike on the day that we arrived in town, so our plans to go straight to MP were thwarted. Fortunately, Hostal Marani was really accommodating and happily arranged two rooms for us that evening. They also held our big luggage in a locked... more

Read about Hostal Marani and their foundation HoPe (Holanda-Peru) in a travel guide. The author was enthousiastic about their cause. Fundacion HoPe helps local communities in and around Cusco with several projects, and the initiative often comes from the communities themselves. We (a young couple) were touched by the photos, stories and friendly people there. As for the hostal itself,... more

I stayed here during my time in Cusco. The room was small and, since it was somewhat chilly, I was able to get a heater. However, the room was clean and the staff courteous. The breakfast wasn't anything to brag about. The place was in a good location and it was just a few blocks to the center of town.... more

The place was okay. Personally, I would pay a bit more for better service and help... especially if you do not speak much Spanish and need more guidance the Cusco / Sacred Valley area. We just returned from spending 3 nights there. The first 2 nights were in Room # 19... the shower was very finicky and trickled for the... more

I chose Marani in large part because of the reviews here and also because it is significantly less expensive than comparable hostales (bed and breakfasts) in Cusco. I found both things to be true and was satisfied with my stay. Marani has the added bonus of being one of the quieter places to stay in Cusco. That being said, you... more

I must say, I expected to be blown away by the Hostal Marani and we just weren't. The first night we arrived, the hostal put us in a double and a single, not the triple we requested. Our second and third nights we were moved to a triple. I understand overbookings happen, but we were really looking forward to staying... more

This place deserves all the praise that has been given to it and is amazing value for money. It is located above the Plaza de Armas just off San Blas plaza down a street too narrow for anything bigger than a car to go down which keeps its location quiet. Once through the gate you are into a delightful courtyard... more

My family and I stayed two days late June ,and three more days after returning from Machu Pichu. Room 24 was great for the 4 of us. Great service, staff is very friendly and helpful, safe storage room to keep your luggage when gone. The patio is nice for breakfast sunny days, everything clean and best of all.... CHEAP!
