I stayed 2 nights at this hotel, the room was spacious and hot water was available, though it was really cold in the room especially in early morning and at night. (I was in Peru in beginning of July) The hotel staff were all nice and helpful, especially Tineke was very helpful and I was given some advices for Machu... more

I stayed here for a few night's before heading to do the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. The room was very spacious, clean, and there was hot water. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They also stored my luggage until I returned from the trek. Breakfast is plenty with fruits, juices, tea, bread, jelly, and sometimes eggs. Its prefect... more

Stayed here on a recommendation and we were pleasantly surprised by how well designed and operated the hostal was. Perfect for a stay before/after a Machu Picchu trek (we did both). Big clean rooms, good bathrooms with hot water. Good location near the San Blas square (can walk to the central areas of Cuzco and lots of dinner options). Surprisingly... more

We stayed at Hostal Marani for one night - I was very pleasantly surprised with the accomodation given the price. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hostal had a reading room with lots of magazines and novels as well. The management was very helpful and also reserved a taxi for us at 6 am to the airport. more

We stayed at Hostal Marani in two different rooms after coming back from Machu Picchu and found them very clean and comfortable overall. Our first room was huge with a beautiful view and a semi private sitting area. However, we wish we had rented the offered heater because it was FREEZING at night. Our second room was much smaller but... more

We stayed almost a week at Hostal Marani, which is conveniently located - close to main plaza. We did get a very large room upstairs (no 25) which was nice. The room gets very cold at night and heaters cost US$6.5 extra per night. We just used the blankets provided, which were plenty and warm. Shower was warm most of... more

It takes a long time to check in and check out from this place. Plan to spend 15-20 minutes waiting both times. The rooms are clean. The bathrooms looked recently remodeled. Ran out of hot water during my shower, so it's best to be quick. Seems like there was lots of noise in this place, constantly waking us up. Breakfast... more

I'm so happy that we booked this hotel when we stayed in Cusco. There was a transit strike on the day that we arrived in town, so our plans to go straight to MP were thwarted. Fortunately, Hostal Marani was really accommodating and happily arranged two rooms for us that evening. They also held our big luggage in a locked... more

Read about Hostal Marani and their foundation HoPe (Holanda-Peru) in a travel guide. The author was enthousiastic about their cause. Fundacion HoPe helps local communities in and around Cusco with several projects, and the initiative often comes from the communities themselves. We (a young couple) were touched by the photos, stories and friendly people there. As for the hostal itself,... more

I stayed here during my time in Cusco. The room was small and, since it was somewhat chilly, I was able to get a heater. However, the room was clean and the staff courteous. The breakfast wasn't anything to brag about. The place was in a good location and it was just a few blocks to the center of town.... more
