We had not booked this hotel, but we were happy we ended up staying here. Rooms are very large, beds are comfortable and cozy with the heavy wool blankets! Most of the staff was very helpful and cheerful. Tended to be a little noisy, but only because there was a restaurant close by that had music some nights. This could... More

We went back to Cusco in July, 2011, and stayed at Santa Catalina again. It is the same as in '08 except they did go up $10 in price per night to $40. I told the lady that we would look around for another hostel and she quickly came back down to $30/night : ) I really like this place,... More

Instead of a cookie cutter type hotel, this one has a lot of individual charm, from the inclosed glass boxes of Peruvian art in the hallways , to the funky 4' doorway to the bathroom in our room - we realized we were not in the Holiday inn and we were glad for it!!! Very accommodating staff - they would... More

We were extremely satisfied with this choice. Thanks everyone on Trip Advisor for your reviews. Super location, two blocks from the main square. Excellent reasturant and bar either side of the entrance. Unlike other reviews our rooms (2) were spotless. Staff friendly and very accomodating of every request. Will certainly stay at this location on my next visit.

For $ 40 a night incl. breakfast this was a great deal! The rooms vary greatly, some are newly renovated and absolutely beautiful and some are small and old. Check them out before you book. Bathrooms are really nice and there was plenty of hot water. You have to ask for towels and TP, but staff is very friendly and... More

we had a room very early in the morning. The room was big but noisy. The hostal is close to the center. We had a tour to the Canyon of Colca organized.

This old Hostal is very well located just 100 mt from Plaza de Armas. The only advantage. To reach the reception you have to climb about 30 steps and then entering the room located all around the same level. The room was stinky, the bathroom was dirty and very narrow. Walls were cracked somewhere. Only two towels were ready and... More

We stayed here for 5 nights in October, 2008. It was more like a hotel than a hostel since every room has it's own bathroom. Single rooms are US $30, and doubles are $40. The people were very nice and helped us with anything we needed--always with a smile. It is very close to the main plaza so a very... More

I really did enjoy my stay at the hostal santa catalina... It was one of the cheapest hostal we stayed in trough our trip in Peru and definitely one of the Best ! Rooms are clean, a bit noisy if they have a street view, but quite comfrotable with TV and we had our own shower. People at the front... More

Good value for money near the main square. Paid 39$ for a double room. Basic breakfast included. DO NOT book any trips / tours through the front desk staff as they are likely to rip you off. Once you know this, rest of stay is very pleasent.
