This place seems to have its detractors - which somehow makes sense, since a hotel as idiosyncratic as this one can't possibly please everyone. We ended up at the Casa de Campo on three different occasions (within two weeks) in three different rooms. Different in the literal sense, since no two rooms are alike here. One of them was a... more

We stayed at Casa de Campo for 3 nights prior to our Inca Trail trek and 1 night after in May 2008. We found everything to be satisfactory and the staff to be helpful and friendly. We are both fit, so the walk from the Plaza de Armas to the hotel & climbing the stairs in the hotel wasn't a... more

I stayed at the Casa de Campo for three nights and not one day passed without me considering checking out. In hindsight, I should have done so... I paid $45 for a single room, which was horribly overpriced. The quality of the room is simply not worth the money you pay for it and the place is located too far... more

When we first arrived at this hotel, we were amazed. As promised from other reviews, the views out our window and from the many terraces and eating areas were amazing. Yes, there were a lot of stairs, but we were prepared for that (mentally if not physically - it's tough to be physically prepared for anything at 11,500 feet). However,... more

The hotel has some beautiful views from a series of patios overlooking Cuzco. The rooms generally do not have any heat - or insulations, so winter nights are really cold. A few rooms have cable TV, but most don't. There is no internet connection. There was a very old looking sign saying their credit card machine was broken and they... more

My two teenage sons and I stayed one week in this hotel during busy season and had spectacular views of city from room and from terraces. Beds were comfy and we liked our room. That being said, there are a LOT of stairs at a really high altitude, and we had constant sewer gas smell in bathroom and sometimes even... more

Beautiful city views, breakfast, friendly & helpful staff made for a nice stay for us. We stayed in two different rooms over two weeks and the only issue was that the bathroom/showers were prone to condensation, mold, and mildew. Like other places we visited in Peru, bathroom ventilation has apparently not been invented yet so this is common throughout. The... more

Me and my mother stayed in this hotel last summer for about a week. It is true that this hotel is not in the center but rather up on a residential hill neighborhood. There are no restaurants, shops or services near by (aside from small kiosks) however, the location on the hill gives this hotel the most amazing views and... more

Had a wonderful stay at the Casa de Campo, but this place is definately not for everyone. Given Cusco's altitude, climbing up the hill from dowtown is tough enough...then having to climb the myriad of stairs to get to your room can be too much for some. That being said, I enjoyed my stay immensely and the view from my... more

We cannot recommend this place. Please keep the distinction of Hostal in mind when thinking of staying at the Casa de Campos. This place will appeal to lower budget travelers and backpackers. This would not be a place for someone who cannot climb stairs and even if you can, if it rains like it did during our trip, you would... more
