This place is great. From the moment we arrived to our departure, we were made to feel at home. As a platinum member of SPG, the hotel voluntarily upgraded us to a junior suite. The room was immaculate, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was included, which consisted of ala carte options and a buffet ( we opted to eat a little... More

Excellent room; good food; excellent service and help with printing boarding passes; many wonderful recommendations for activities and restaurants. Lots of information about local celebrations in July. Cusco (Qosqo) can pose an altitude problem for some. I was welcomed with Cocoa tea, and information about assistance I might need in that regard. The hotel, staff, restaurant staff were wonderful. There... More

The hotel and staff were very nice. The room was very clean and comfortable. The only problem that we had is that the breakfast wasn't very good. Not the best selection and some of the food tasted like it had been setting out for days.

I loved this hotel, I wish I could have stayed longer! We stayed overnight while in transit from Machu Picchu to Puno. The staff was warm and friendly upon our arrival and throughout our visit. We arrived in the evening and the courtyard was lit up beautifully giving the feel of being transported back to the 17th century. Our room... More

Beautiful older hotel close to the Plaza de Armas. I am surprised by the critical comments made by others in their reviews. It is an OLD building that has been updated to maintain its integrity while adding comfortable, modern amenities. The courtyard is lovely and looks original - stark Spanish Moor style. I was part of a group traveling together,... More

We spent four nights here as a family. The rooms are fine. Really nothing special. The breakfast food is so so but the nicest part was a harpist playing while we ate. Also enjoyed our complimentary pisco sour on arrival. We did not get good help at the desk with reservations for restaurants. Not friendly.

At first glance this hotel seems alright. While you check in you are offered Coca Tea to help you acclimatise to the very high altitude. We were shown to our room, through a rather neglected courtyard. The room had been sprayed with some terrible smell and I had to immediately go out and ask for a different room because I... More

Stayed in the old part & a little disappointed. The room gets no sun & is cold. The room & bathroom feels old & dated, well really it is an old building. You can still keep the history an update the furnishing. Breakfast OK, service terrible. You can order a cooked breakfast I found on the last morning. No one... More

Room was very functional and clean. Had decent WIFI coverage (my friend didn't). We ate in the restaurant 4x (2 breakfasts, 1 lunch, 1 dinner). Breakfast was better than average. Lunch and dinner had the same menu I think but the food was excellent which is NOT typical of restaurants in hotels. My one irritation is that they don't heat... More

We stayed here for one night when we arrived in Cusco. We booked it last minute as our plans changed, but they were very friendly at the front desk and bell services very attentive. Room was very cleans spacious with 2 queen size beds. They offer complimentary water and free wi-fi. Breakfast coffee was not that good. But overall we... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Costa del Sol Picoaga is located in a colonial-era mansion that is considered part of the cultural heritage of the city of Cusco. The building dates back to the 17th century, when the Marquis de Picoaga arrived in the city and built himself a new home, employing stonework and murals. The hotel is divided between a colonial wing and a contemporary wing, combining stone archways, a beautiful patio, a fountain and original murals dating from the architecture of the 17th century with all the comforts of a modern, contemporary hotel. The rooms have been designed for the comfort of the guests and are spacious, peaceful and fully equipped. They have Wi-Fi internet connections, cable television, direct dial telephones, safe deposit boxes and a mini-bar. The hotel conserves all the beauty of an old colonial mansion and provides the welcoming service that will make you feel special during every day of your stay with us. ... more   less
