This hotel architecturally is a dream. I visited ,after my father suggested for me to do so (he had stayed in this hotel 10 years before) and he was completely right. It is a very unique building with such a romantic feel to it. The food here is exceptional. The presentation is flawless and the taste is divine. The staff... More

Our first steps into the hotel were met with beautiful sublime music of a time long gone. Short of breath, we were seated and offered coca tea. That was ok but the Pisco sour that followed hit the spot. The coca tea is available at all times in a cubicle between the front desk and the bar/lounge. It is to... More

From the moment we set foot in the hotel the service was fabulous. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite in a lovely courtyard off the bar area. The different teas to combat altitude sickness were lovely and the staff could not do enough for you. Nothing was ever a problem and this seemed to continue throughout Peru. Our room... More

The reception desk staff was professional, concierge friendly, & the waitstaff very, very attentive to the point of overwhelming. The rooms are a bit old fashioned dingy, but very clean. The bathrooms were nice. Beware: My Doctor/fiancé became sick due to altitude & we wanted to cancel the room two days in advance. Their policy is you need a Doctors... More

we stayed here twice , once over Christmas and a few days later. The hotel is , as the name hints at is behind the cathedral in Cusco. Do note Cusco is a world heritage city, everything in down town is within a 20 minute walk from the hotel. The town is at 10000 feet above sea level, one needs... More

Although we just had a drink there our experience was great--Darcy G was the bartender, he was friendly, knowledgeable and went out of his way to help us. We asked for a recommendation on pisco and he brought us five different types to try and gave a full lesson on the history and regional differences of pisco. This was quite... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights in October of 2015 while we were on tour in Peru. This hotel was a former monastery and has a beautiful inner courtyard with beautiful gardens. This hotel is within walking distance of Cuzco's main square. There is much art in this hotel to walk around and see. The... More

We were near the end of our Machu Picchu visit and this was the third Belmond property of the trip--after Rio Sagrado and Sanctuary Lodge. Our group was split as to whether this was our favorite property or Rio Sagrado (Sanctuary Lodge was forgettable and overpriced, getting top dollar for its location). Don't get me wrong, this property isn't cheap.... More

This is a beautiful old hotel. Every detail is taken care of. Staff is very hood. Restaurant is very good. The only issue is no gym, steam room, sauna etc. rooms are not the most biggest but the California king bed makes up for a lot. A surprising number of English tv channels. No problem plugging in multiple USA appliances.

Location is central, walking distance to places to see in Cusco, lay out of the hotel is nice, comfortable rooms, very good breakfast with live music, but dinner was disappointing and expensive, still it is worthwhile to stay.
