This is a superb hotel in an excellent location. The rooms are large and excellently appointed. The property is beautiful and the staff is very helpful. It is a splurge price wise. We were doing a Backroads tour and needed to add an additional night due to our travel plans (which the hotel was able to organize without any issues).

Gorgeous looking from the outside, beautiful courtyard and breakfast BUT the rooms vary widely. Very stuffy mouldy rooms no ventilation in the bathroom and extremely strong smell of sewerage. I would hold my breath every time I entered the bathroom. We were in a group and it was all very hit and miss. If I had booked this for a... More

Exceptional in all ways! We stayed at the hotel 4 nights prior travelling to Machu Picchu. It is an old monastery converted to a hotel that has not lost its charm and uniqueness. It is located close to the main square where tours typically pick you up and drop you off and market stores for shopping. The staff is exceptional... More

The hotel Monasterio is set up within the walls of a convent from Colonial times, you breathe the air of ancient times at any minute. Despite the ancient setting the Monasterio has all amenities of a top notch modern hotel. The service is impeccable and the staff is friendly and very helpful. The hotel is conveniently located, just a five... More

We stayed here for several nights, both before and after we went to Machu Picchu, and we were not disappointed. This old monastery converted into a luxury hotel is in itself an artifact worth visiting; Mick Jagger had stayed here only a few weeks before we were there, which speaks for itself. The location of the hotel was perfect, the... More

We stayed at Hotel Monasterio in October 2011 for two nights on the way to Machu Pichu.. What an amazing hotel with excellent service, outstanding Opera-Dinner that I will always remember for the rest of my life.. Great service and food, very centrally located, within walking distance to Cusco center.. Garden is very peaceful, in the afternoon a guitarist accompanies... More

We stayed at the Hotel Monasterio for 5 nights - the service was outstanding (I can't say enough about how well looked after we felt!), the rooms were beautiful, the beds very comfortable, the grounds were stunning! We highly recommend splurging (yes it's pricey - but totally worth it!) and staying here. We really enjoyed eating lunch in the courtyard... More

The Hotel Monasterio was a wonderful place to stay in Cusco, at the end of a week-long journey through the Sacred Valley. Spacious and comfortable rooms, amazing breakfasts and a unique Opera-Dinner, coupled with a relaxing courtyard to escape from tourist crowds in the city made it difficult to leave. The staff was more than helpful, and fit the setting... More

Staying in a 16th century monastery converted into a hotel was pretty cool. It has two amazing courtyards where you can eat outside and 3 nights a week they have a special dinner where opera signers perform. The spa is excellent, the service was great, the only downside was that it was SO beautiful and comfortable that I didn't want... More

We spent our last couple of nights here after touring through Peru. What a beautiful hotel and relaxing setting! I enjoyed a complimentary breakfast overlooking their courtyard as a guitarist played soft music…our dinner was in the restaurant with opera singers one night and a guitar/flute duo the next. The food is outstanding. The service is beyond expectations. Everyone is... More
