I've read the other reviews and I couldn't agree more. Comfy waiting area with fireplace, nice bar, great breakfast and dinner, excellent tour of the ruins found below the hotel, piped in O2 to the rooms and I could go on. On a recent trip to Cusco (3/2-6) I not only got to enjoy the beautiful hotel and all its... More

This hotel is an oasis of luxury perfectly matching the historic richness of Cusco culture. It pays tribute, not only to the impressive architectural legacy of the city, but also to the humble pride that city residents have in the lasting achievements of the Incas. The hotel has a nobility and classic style that is the result of conscious effort... More

A good hotel - even a little trendy for the area. Lobby is large with a beautiful middle room fire to relax by with a cocktail. Rooms are normal size, as are bathrooms. Service is nice. We spent time at the spa after our long day in Macchu Pichu in the hot tub and sauna. Was really nice. No frills.... More

We recently stayed in several hotels between Cusco and Machu Picchu: this hotel, El Albergue de Ollantaytambo and the prestigious Belmond Sanctuary Lodge atop Machu Picchu. JW Marriott El Convento was the 2nd in price but the 1st in service! To avoid altitude sickness, we took the advice of TA Peru forum experts who suggest staying in the lower elevation... More

Its difficult to find adequate superlatives for this hotel. I suppose being a converted monastery gives you an advantage but this place has the luxury of a 5 star hotel combined with the history and ambience of a monastery. The staff are exceptional and the breakfast is world class. You genuinely couldn't find a fault if you tried.

Dear MXKBrisbane75, Thank you so much for your kind words. They definitely encourage us in the pursuit of excellence. As you mentioned, our hotel used to be the St. Augustine's Convent and after a long renovation process we were able to have this beautiful hotel. Everyday at 6:00 pm, we offer a guided visit to our facilities so everyone enjoys... More

This was a luxurious treat! The rooms are quiet and elegant, the pool and spa a great activity after visiting Machu Picchu, the breakfast buffet incredible, the staff very friendly and accommodating, and the dinner was spectacular. We went in the off season and got a big discounted package.

I stayed here after spending the day hiking Machu Picchu and it was so nice to stay in such a luxurious hotel where I could take a hot shower, soak my feet in the tub, and blissfully sleep in their comfy beds.
