This hotel is NOT near the city center. But that is exactly why we liked it. You are in a real neighborhood, with locals. That may be a downside for some, but not us. If you are squeamish, or traveling with those that are squeamish.. I would not stay here. The neighborhood does appear a bit "tough." We did not... More

Pros: Price Room size Breakfast International ESPN Front Desk Help Free taxi to and from airport WIFI Location*** Cons: No 24 hour desk (but they're open late) We stayed here for 5 nights over the Christmas holiday. Rooms were clean, reasonably sized and they featured satellite TV so after a long day of sightseeing, we could relax with some American... More

Far from the historical center, in a noisy neighbourhood, with ugly furniture... we were convinced by the good grades we found on TripAdvisor, but we were very much disappointed. We almost thought about changing in the middle of the stay.

We also stayed in a hostel in Cuzco for 1 night. I wish we would have just come back to this hotel. The staff was friendly & it was clean. Better yet, our rooms had heaters that worked & hot showers. The hotel was also on a quieter street. My only complaint would be that the auto shop across the... More

When we get to the hotel, we were a little afraid that the location is too far from the city center. It tuned out it isn't. By walk it's 10 to 15 minutes and if you don't feel like walking, taxi cost is around 6 soles. Friendly staff, clean rooms, the only thing is lack of elevator, but hey more... More

In a sketchy neighbourhood and, if one is not acclimatized to the elevation, a tiring walk to the Square. The worst thing is the noise. If you get the front you will get traffic noise starting at 4:30 a.m. and periodically through the night. There is no A/C and no fan available. If you chose the back side of the... More

We arrived mid day from a 21hr bus ride from Lima and I was greeted by my first name! Now there's a first time and I was very happy and maybe because they were expecting us. We were showed to our room which was located on the 2nd floor. Heater was a plus since it was already cold when we... More

I had such a positive experience with Unumizu! The hotel is a small operation all run by the family. They were never too busy to help with anything I needed, and were sure to take time to help with any needs or concerns. I needed my train ticket printed for the following day, and their printer was not working, but... More

We stayed here for two nights before our Machu Picchu trek and overall was a good experience. As others have noted it is in an odd neighbourhood but was only a 10-15 minute walk to the Plaza de Armas so not a huge deal. The staff was friendly, rooms clean, fine breakfast, and we had laundry done for a very... More

Agree with other reviews; nice staff, weird neighborhood. Even though it is located as previous reviewers pointed out in a neighborhood filled with auto part stores it really isn't far from many of the main sites. We actually walked and it was easy and safe. -They provided complimentary pickup from the airport, but on return we were charged. - Not... More
