I was really excited to stay in this hostel, because it seemed like it was my style. I arrived at around 6 in the morning after an overnight flight from Quito and I hadn't slept for like 24 hours and I was exhausted. When I got there, the lady at the front desk asked me to wait for an hour... More

We really enjoyed our stay at Mama Simona's.However, we did not spend much time at the hostel itself. We found the hostel to be clean, the beds to be comfortable, the space in the rooms to be sufficient. Towels were provided for the showers, which had hot water (though you may have to run it a bit). We only tried to... More

We found a spider in the room but these things happen. The Wi-fi had good signal only in the common area. The location is good. The hostel is clean, and the rooms are very good! The staff helpfull! There is a laundry service nearby. It was quiet . Also you can leave your bags for free. The Breakfast was basic,... More

We stayed 4 nights last September (2014), and the hostel was always clean, comphy and welcoming. The staff is always willing to help you and there is free wi-fi in the common room. It´s not a party hostel which was perfect for us! It seems just a bit too far from downtown Cusco, but this is only due the height... More

It is located a bit far from the main square but close to the market. If you want to sleep in early night hour (eg before 10pm) with quiet atmosphere, i would not stay here because staffs at the front desk play music, and the sound bounces to anyroom you stay in (because of the building structure) there are some... There is lots to like about Mama Simona. The staff, contrary to some other reviews, were always very friendly and helpful, whether we conversed in Spanish or English. Our 4 bed dorm had incredible comfortable beds with cosy down duvets - one of the best beds we've had while travelling. Rooms were super clean as were the bathroom and showers... More

Having read so many great reviews about Mama Simona I was so looking forward to my stay and sadly it didn't live up to all the great reviews. The rooms are centred around the communal area and it is so loud in the morning with inconsiderate guests speaking at full volume and screaming children allowed to run free and the... More

We loved staying at Mama Simona - my boyfriend and I spent a total of 4 nights here but we initially were only planning on staying for 2 nights. The rooms were clean and the staff was super accomodating especially bceause we kept asking to extend our stay and they were able to find us great rooms last minute. The... More

My friend and I spent four nights at Mama Simona- three before our Inca Trail Trek and one after. The location was great- two blocks away from San Pedro Market and about 4 from Plaza De Armas- and on a quiet sidestreet. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful- kudos to Miguel, who helped us find a lock for our... More

I spent 5 nights at Mama Simona. The double room was clean and the bed was comfy but it was quite noisy as we were right next to a dorm and a shared bathroom. The location is alright, halfway between the Plaza de Armas and the Mercado San Pedro. The thing that really annoyed me with Mama Simona is the... More
