I stayed in El Tuco one night after reading some reviews online. It's a bit pricy if you're on a backpacker's budget, but it's comfortable and I'm sure you'll get a good shower and a good night sleep. Breakfast is simple but good (i.e. the usual in Peru: eggs, campesino bread, coffee, and freshly-squeezed orange juice!). Jorge and his wife... More

-best showers in South America (probably better than yours at home) -great wifi on the first floor -Coco and his wife make you feel at home and go out of their way to help you. -Super affordable and great value! -Negatives: Not the most comfortable pillows and a bit far from the main city center -you have to be let... The friendly owner runs a basic but nice hostel. They have a nice breakfast with eggs in any way you want but you have to do the dishes yourself. Fine if you are on a budget but we opted for some more comfort. Neighborhood is convenient with center and supermarket nearby but does not have any ambience. Laundry was expensive,... More

I booked a private to try and catch up on some sleep, but when I arrived I was told I have a 9am checkout because another person is checking in to the room tomorrow. I agree with all of the other reviews. It's nice, comfy, reasonably priced and the wifi is better than I have had in a week, but... More

Very accommodating hostel, the staff do everything they can to help you. Would definitely recommend, especially to people who go on treks as they let you leave ur stuff in a locked room while you are gone an they book you a room for when you're back. Their associated tour company are good as well!

We had a great stay at this hostel while in Cusco. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Each morning at breakfast we were able to talk to our host about our plans for that day and get some advice. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The location is walkable to the Plaza de Armas. It is good to... More

Coco and his wife are very very lovely hosts. They go out of their way to help you with any queries you may have. Breakfast is basic but good and the coffee is great. The rooms are big and comfortable but are very cold! The hot water and the shower pressure is amazing The location is good and takes about... More

We stayed at El Tuco to acclimate to the elevation prior to embarking on the Inca Trail. The accommodations are modest, but the rooms were large, the bed comfortable, blankets heavy and shower worked great. It's a hostel, so no room service, but there is a kitchen and you are allowed to use it. The staff is helpful and they... More

I was travelling with a group of friends. We spent 3 nights in Cuzco either side of going to Machupichu. Coco's (the owner) hospitality and the well kept hotel/hostel made for a very enjoyable stay in Cuzco. I would recommend El Tuco to anyone looking for somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of gap year backpackers with a friendly... More
