We stayed here for six weeks as part of a archaeological research project and it really felt like home. Yes, it is basic but what do you expect for such a price? We all had double rooms with ensuites, power sockets and a pretty decent TV, which was much better than we were expecting for the budget price. The family... More

A group of 29 of us stayed here in April for two weeks. The staff were very friendly, particularly the land lady and daughter. The place itself is very well located, yet the quality of the rooms leaves a lot of room for improvement. As well as needing a great deal of TLC all the rooms could do with a... More

I'll try to be objective about my experience. I was in Peru and needed a place to stay fast so I did a quick google search. One of the hostels that came up was this one. The web page was great. Well done, pictures looked great, place looked fancy and $ 20 for a single room with a bathroom. I... More

Finally after more than a year I am reviewing this awesome hostel.(September 2010) We stayed for three weeks, and if we didn't have to move around Peru, we would have stayed longer. The staff was extremely friendly, the rooms were very clean(for South American Standards), and the location is excellent. The staff respected us even though we were quite obviously... More

We spend 2 weeks in the hostel in a double room with private bathroom. The room was clean (they clean and organize the room dailly). The only problamatic thing i can say is the sheer curtains...it make you wake up really early but we learned to realize most the hostels share this problam. Sonia, the owner, is really nice and... The hostel was not too clean, not too friendly but for one or two nights it was fine. I was offered a cup of mate de coca on arrival, in order to be able to adapt to the high altitude, and the woman at the reception seemed nice. She even suggested me and my friend a place to eat in... More

We had two spells on this hostel. This first was actually really nice. Nice rooms, nice breakfast. Helpful owner. We then went to Machu Picchu for the night and when we returned everything change. The new room was dark and dingy. We were now charged for eggs at breakfast where before they were free. We received one bread roll rather... More

The staff are great, but the hostal itself is in dire need of some TLC. We booked a double with ensuite room, we were put in the part of the building facing onto a road which is very noisy- the rooms at the back are better. Place seems to have an issue with old plumbing - both rooms we were... More
