The old man who seems to be the owner is dishonest, disrespectful, unfriendly and greedy. We stayed there for a few days, then went to the machu picchu and made a booking for two more nights after our return. We had also left our backpack in their storage room which guaranteed we would come back. We warned the old man... More

Home Sweet Home is worth the tiring walk up stairs, especially when you're adjusting to the altitude. The views of Cusco were extraordinary however the rooms are small and the service was both hot and cold. The Sacred Valley tour was great, definitely get your ticket on the tour. We took the tour and stayed in Ollyantaytumbo to take the... More

I had a great time staying at this hostel atop a beautiful vista. Luis and his staff couldn't be kinder or more helpful. They have wifi, a TV and a great breakfast every morning. Take the Sacred Valley Tour when you get settled in!

The stairs up to this place will get you ready for the Inca Trail, and the view is well worth it, especially at sunset. Relatively basic place but it has everything including wifi, breakfast, storage while you trek and private rooms. It was cold, but that's to be expected. Heaters and lots of blankets are provided, but rooms themselves are... More

I have stayed at the Home Sweet home hostel in Cusco several times over the past five years. The rooms are comfortable and you get an excellent breakfast also. The folks are friendly and helpful and can organize your day trips or visits to Machu Picchu and beyond. The hostel is a favourite of international backpackers.

As we traveled in and out of Cusco in route to Machu Picchu or the Manu rain forest we made Home Sweet Home our base. I loved the location up the cobbled stone streets of the San Blas neighborhood. The delightful staff served a delicious breakfast and was always available to provide travel tips a clean towel or laundry. It... More

Once you've recovered from the climb up the stairs, which is only a bit tough due to altitude (but come on it's good training for Machu Picchu), you'll be at the door of the best situated hostel in town. The view over Cusco is amazing. The rooms are clean and warm. Most don't have windows to the outside, but this... More

The climb up to the hostel was very difficult, especially with big backpacks, and we knew we did not want to do these stairs every time we went to town (thinking about after the Inca Trail too). With that being said, the view was utterly jaw dropping and I am glad we experienced it, even if it was just for... More

Helpful staff and good breakfast await after your climb up to this hostel. I was fortunate to have the dorm room to myself, and it was a nice walk to the washroom at night, looking out over the lights of the city. The heater in the room was a big help. It was my first place on this trip, and... More

The owner of this hostel is so helpful and inviting. Rooms are good for price and shower was really nice and clean. Breakfast is excellent! We had to leave early on our last night here and the owner got up especially and made us breakfast. Would recommend this place for a cheap and comfortable stay. Nice and quiet and close... More
