I am so glad I chose this hostel for my 11 night stay in Cusco. I wanted to explore Cusco and the Sacred Valley and also acclimatise in advance of my Machu Picchu trek, so initially stayed for 9 nights. When I returned to Samay Wasi for a final 2 nights at the end of my trek, it felt like... More

We loved staying at this rustically decorated little hostel. Not only was the view amazing and the location ideal, but the people who work there make this place FANTASTIC. This hostel is more like a B&B in my opinion. We had a private room with en suite bath, second floor room 9 and stayed for 3 days. The shower had... More

This hostel ticked all of the boxes from our perspective. It was very inexpensive and, although relatively basic as regards the accommodation, the staff more than makes up for this - they are very friendly and helpful. The location is very good, but take a taxi to find it initially, and it has great views from the balcony,

We stayed at Samay Wasi for five nights before our Inca Trail plus one night afterwards and would recommend it to anyone (well, anyone capable of a few steps :-) ).... Pros - great location up in San Blas ... close to Tandapata with a few great restaurants if you don't fancy walking down to the centre... or only 10... More

First of all if you arrive by car (rental) it's an absolute nightmare to find the hostel, and there is no place to park your car. Either you leave it 15mn walk or pay for a garage. But that was not the bad side of it. We had a 4 nights reservation and stayed 1 just because it was to... More

I found this hostel at last minute and it turned out to be one of my favorite hostal I've stayed, espcially during my stay in Peru. The staff is friendly and helpful, the room is clean and the location is great. Not to mention the awesome view from the balcony, it is priceless and breathtaking. I recommend everyone should stay... My boyfriend and I walked in & stayed in a twin room with ensuite for 2 nights then a 6 bed dorm with ensuite all to ourselves (for the same price as the private room) as that was all that was available (you really need to book ahead, especially if you want a double room!) Both rooms were clean with... More

Great hostel with very nice hot showers, a must at cold Cusco nights! The rooms are nice and have a warm feel to them, although a heater is welcome. And not to forget the views, especially with breakfast, great way to start the day. The staff helped out with any question and are not trying to sell. Just genuine info... More

The hostel (nb. 1) is located up the hill with a lovely view over Cuzco. Walking up to the hostel is also good training if you plan to do a trek :) We stayed in two different rooms, both of them were nice. The bathroom is quite basic but ok and the shower had good water pressure and hot water.... More

Samay Wasi is situated in a quaint part of Cusco, at the top of a hill looking over the city. Views were great and free coca tea was appreciated. Staff were helpful. We stayed in the four person room which was cramped and freezing cold. Bathroom was far too small and very basic. Noisy at night. I'm sure other rooms... More
