Definitely go here! Staff is very friendly and helpful. We got an awesome room: big, quiet and with wonderful beds. Shower is very hot which is great. Location is a short walk from Plaza de Armas and Plaza San Francisco, but safe to walk. For us, the best place we stayed in Peru (although the quality was generally high). Would... More

The stay was comfortable and quiet as we were in a private room in the back of the building. The showers were extremely hot, the hottest I experienced during a month in Peru in fact. The egg with breakfast was a nice option. The baggage room was always locked with tags assigned to every bag and a good protocol of... More

This place is everything but not a normal YHA Hostal as u know it! We stayed here just for one night but that was enouth! The staff was terrible unfriendly, internet on computer and wifi was not working at all, there was a very bad mood in the whole house and breakfast was very bad for this price (we even... More

I stayed in Hostall Mallqui for about two weeks on and off in march 2015. We made a reservation trough Hihostel.com for 28 soles for a 4 female dorm room. While talking with the other people in the room (not only female by the way), we realized we were paying 3 soles more than everyone juste because we made a... More

Clean, AMAZING breakfast, and worth it! Staff was a little cold at times, and my "women's only" dorm had more men in it than women, but the atmosphere is great, the building itself is lovely, and for only 25 soles ($8) a night, definitely the place to be. Wifi had issues that they didn't seem to care to resolve, though.... More

I booked at the Hospedaje Turistico Recoleta for a semi-private room for $17. It was about a mile walk to the central tourist area (Plaza de Armas) but was recommended on Hostelworld.com. Moved to Hostel Mallqui because it was only 5 blocks from the Plaza de Armas and had a private room with bath, cable TV with HBO for the... More

Stayed here for a week in December and again in February. Some of the reception staff were friendly and helpful, rooms clean, breakfast sufficient. It was cold! and you had to pay $30 for a heater! overpriced. It advertises free internet but it is useless. The street it is in is smelly and dirty but it is only 3 blocks... More

Spent a couple of nights here on my way to Machu Picchu. The staff are very, very helpful and polite. The place is clean and in a great location, just a few blocks away from the main square (Plaza de Armas). They offer free wifi (though it didn't quite work in my room) and breakfast is included (bread, butter, jam,... More

We stayed at this mediocre hostel for two nights for $35, as we booked this online. After a trip to Machu Picchu we came back and were shown a different room, and was told it was 60 soles. We agreed. The next day when we came to pay, the manager said it was $35 too. We insisted that we were... More

We recently stayed here for 4 nights over New Years Eve. Let's face it this place is cheap, really cheap so set your expectations....you are not staying in a 4 star hotel. The rooms are nice, we stayed in a double room that had an ensuite bath. The room and bathroom were clean and cleaned daily (however they don't give... More
