I stayed one night in Hotel La Casa de mi Abuela and felt at home from the moment I stepped into the beautiful garden. Loved the atmosphere, very charming, the service was very friendly, the rooms were clean (I liked the traditional details mixed with modern), loved having breakfast outside in the beautiful garden with hummingbirds and butterflies flying around.... This hotel was recommended by friends as a well located hotel where it was possible to relax and forget you are in the middle Arequipa. The kids loved the pool too, even if the water was very cold! I liked this place.

This place was in a great location but so gross. It's one of those places where you want to wear your shoes in the shower. The rooms were very rundown, which was unfortunate because the grounds were so beautiful. There was a pool, lots of flowers and cute landscaping. The breakfast was pretty good. But the rooms really were not... More

It is ok for one or two nights to visit the city, but it is very amateuristically build, and needs a mayor overhaul, everything looks worn out, the pool is not regularly cleaned, the footsteps in the sand on the bottom were the same 2 days later, the sunbathing chairs look dirty so look the mattresses, and the chairs and... This hotel really deserves its 3 star designation. On the north end of the tourist district, La Casa de mi Abuela gets its share of tour groups and manages them well. Rooms are in two and three story buildings scattered around a large, grassy courtyard that includes a small pool. A double rents for S/59 and an excellent (and al... More

I do not recognise this hotel from some of the immediately preceding reviews. We found it comfortable and quiet apart from various nearby animals. Lovely gardens. Delicious breakfast. Restaurant could have been better but it was adequate. Walking distance to the cathedral and the monastery. Also don't miss the big food market just beyond the plaza major.

I am at this hotel as I write this review. As a solo female traveler, I was placed at the far end of the property with what sounds like a chicken/ rooster farm over the brick wall. I heard the roosters crowing much of the night. The sound of footsteps, toilet flushing, tv, and bed springs in the room above... More
