The room are cleans, big and sometime you can have a TV inside. Great located, at 5 min of the "Plaza de las Armas". They offer a great patio and a GREAT terrace!!!! The staff is very nice, they allowed us to let our luggage during our trek in the Colca Canyon (we did it by ourself and it was... More

I left this hostel feeling angry and ripped off. The staff were unhelpful and petulant and went out of there way to make us feel unwelcome there. We booked our departing bus tickets to Copacabana (Bolivia) through the hostel. It turns out the lady made 65 soles profit off us. The rooms themselves were nice and the hostel was in... More

Had a hard time choosing a place to stay in Arequipa, but finally chose Hostal Santa Catalina based on reasonably good TripAdvisor reviews, our guidebook, and its good location. We were not disappointed - and had a very positive stay! I'd warmly recommend this hostel! The staff is very friendly, helpful, and funny! We were given a spacious, basic but... More

I'm really happy to write a review for this place. Although we only stayed two nights, we'd loved to be able to stay longer. We felt at home immediately. We were surprised about the cheap prices, especially for what you get: large rooms, colonial style, decent hot showers and wifi access throughout the whole building. Nice terraces as well. The... Surprisingly quiet hostel even if its located at a big street (ask for the rooms at the back side). The rooms are very basic but okay. Night was a bit cold but we slept well. The roof terrace was really nice and there was a nice cleaning man who sang in Quechua for us! Really enjoyed that evening. Also offer... More

Located in a colonial house, this beautiful hostal is just 2 blocks from the Santa Catalina Monastery, inside the touristic area of Arequipa and a 10 minute walk from the main square. The warm atmosphere and friendly staff with Rodolfo taking care of business makes you feel at home immediately. It got excellent views from the roof terrace over town... More

The rooms come with a tv, fridge, and hot shower. Its obviously not luxury but defintely acceptable for the price. I had one of the rooms facing the street and there was a glass pane through the window to try to reduce the noise. It is a busy street out front but I was able to sleep, as I had... More

Bedbugs in our room... not many, but all it takes is a few to start an infestation. The hostel itself would not have been overall acceptable for the cost (30S for a huge matrimonial room with shared bath). There is a nice rooftop and free fast WiFi (which was switched off at midnight) Hostal Santa Catalina has small kitchen for... More

We stayed in a double room with private bathroom for s/.50, which initially seemed to be good with both a TV and a fridge in the room. However, after the first night we woke up with a number of bites. We inspected the mattress and found a few bedbugs. When we told the owner, he naturally said that there had... More
