We stayed in the main house and had a great view of El Misti and surrounding mountains. Posada el Castillo is a good value and I appreciated the architectural details of the house. I enjoyed the quietness of being out of town and just a short taxi ride to the Plaza . Hans was helpful in arranging a city/country tour... more

Best bang for buck we had so far on our trip in peru!! High quality bedrooms with all facilities and nice breakfast. Dutch owner and his wife are very friendly and will help you with everything. Not far from citycentre and because of the relative low costs you can take a taxi which will only cost you 1$. in Dutch:... more

Very nice stay for two nights in this magnificent house, outside of Arequipa downtown, but within easy reach by foot or taxi. Dutch owner was very helpful with advice and airport pick-up. Breakfast was simple but very nice, with great fruit salad. I had a gorgeous big room (#18), very nice bathroom, modern & spotlessly clean. Some of the other... more

Absoluetely beautiful hotel in Arequipa. For this price range the best I have stayed in during my time in South America. Owned by a friendly Dutch/Peruvian family, the hotel resembles a large house which is superbly designed. The rooms are beautiful and spacious with high celings. Nice clean bathroom and hot shower. The dining room is lovely too and you... more

This was my fourth visit to Arequipa. The hotel is located too far from the city center. Also if you walk towards the centre, you have to pass the dangerous districts. You will miss the beautiful and safe north site of Arequipa, where you can find the nicer restaurants and shops for example. Staff is nice, but you can find... more

Our visit to Posada el Castillo didn't start very well as Hans (the owner) forgot to pick us up from the bus station but that was quickly forgotten when we arrived at this wonderful place. The room was HUGE, comfortable, very quiet and had great views of El Misti. Hans claims that the breakfast is the best in Peru and... more

We loved this place. It is really beautiful. The grounds are spotless, the breakfast is amazing - the breakfast room looks like a museum. The main building does indeed look and feel like a castle. It really shows that the owner has put a lot of love in this place. We absolutely loved, and I wished we stayed there longer.... more

Really nice hotel, great breakfast too in a lovely breakfast room. Its about a 20 minute walk or 3 soles taxi into Arequipa from here so not too far, the only complaint I could have about this place is that if you don´t want to go into town at night for something to eat there is nowhere nearby to get... more

We had booked a tour from Cusco to Lake Titicaca through to and including the Colca Canyon. The tour company booked the Posada El Castillo for part of the tour so we had no idea what it would be like. Thankyou SAS Travel-this place was magic and a real surprise. The pick of places in our month away. Lovely clean... more

Posada el Castillo is a really nice hotel. We were there on honeymoon and spent 3 nights at the hotel & loved it. The main building is beautiful, plenty of nice architectural details. Hans the owner picked us up at the airport and is an entertaining character, slightly Basil Fawltyesque, but in a good way ! He gave us good... more
