This is a beautiful building, loving restored, and including its own restaurant and roof top gardens. The rooms were comfortable and wifi was free. It has an interesting history and some of the early artefacts are on display. The hotel is well located for local markets.

La Casona is a sweet boutique hotel. It is tastefully decorated in an old house and close to good shopping, government buildings and a beautiful neighborhood. It has its own restaurant with great food, and room service was prompt. In my single room, the bed was comfortable, and the room beautifully appointed and clean. The bath was decorated in granite... I really enjoyed staying here. The location is good. It's near to a supermarket and shopping centre. Its a nice quiet area which I never felt unsafe in. It's a 15 minute walk to the old town. The hotel is lovely. The room was very clean. There's a gate at the main entrance for security. The staff are very friendly... More

We stayed at La Casona while we were visiting family. The location is convenient to the town center and the riverfront, where I love to walk. The property is an enormous old house from back when the neighborhood was mostly residential, a time I remember. We had the breakfast every morning. It was the usual, delicious Cuenca breakfast of freshly... More

Although we stayed at various hotels when we first moved to Cuenca, we were happy to find a lovely hotel in our favorite neighborhood for regular visits after moving into the country. The hotel is a big, beautiful, "estate" like manor with a restaurant that seems like the old library. Staying here is as comfortable as it sounds. The rooms... More

The house is antique but very well preserved. In a very quiet part of the city, but in a centric location. Nice and big room, good prices, very nice people works there. Private garage, hot water, nice view. But internet does not work, and the plates in breakfast are tinny!!!

Very nice, clean, safe, quiet place to stay. Part of its charm is that is more in a residential neighborhood, and a walk to the center of town. Cab access anywhere within minutes. Staff was very helpful and spoke english reasonably well. Breakfast was typical Ecuadorean. Our daughter lives in Ecuador, and next time we're in Cuenca, we will stay... More

Stayed here as part of a tour. Beds were clean and comfortable actually the hotel standards reminded me a bit or a travel lodge or holiday inn. The bathroom was nice. The hotel was in walking distance of a shopping centre and some nice places to eat taxis cost next to nothing so getting the hotel to order one is... More

Only a 20 minute walk or a $3 taxi ride from the old town the hotel has virtually no passing traffic at night, ensuring a good night's sleep. The staff are friendly with some English. The architecture is interesting and pressed tin ceilings in the good sized rooms indicate the hotel dates back to the 1930s or thereabouts.

I stayed at this hotel through a tour and it's one of the nicest ones in Ecuador. It's clean, rooms are comfortable, bathrooms are nice and the staff are friendly. Location was pretty good too and breakfast was not bad. I recommend it if you're travelling to Cuenca.
