The hotel is housed in an old colonial house in the centre of Cuenca. The location couldn't be better. There's also an amazing garden in the rear complete with humming birds. There was a good choice for breakfast and service was good in all areas. On our first morning there were several business people, that is - rather than tourists... More

The hotel was sold out so we went for special dinner. This is completely upscale. We ate in the glass enclosed dining room and with the service and the quality we easily could have been in NYC or London or Paris. The food was superb from chef's creation before the appetizer to the desserts and the service was impeccable. Simply... More

This hotel has very nice communal spaces, garden, rooms and breakfast, yet what makes it particularly special its the great service and attention with which the staff help customers. They make you feel at home all the time. Highly recommended.

I can't say enough good things about Mansion Alcazar. The setting in a beautiful garden filled with birds, spacious well appointed rooms, well trained helpful staff all set around a historical building. The restaurant continues the elegance with wonderful meals and service. This hotel deserves an award of excellence. Also the best hotel we stayed in in Ecuador.
