We stayed at the Mansion Alcazar for 3 nights and from the time we stepped out of the taxi we were treated very well. Our room was on the ground floor opposite the restaurant. It was a large room with a garden view but was quite dark due to the heavy furnishings. The bathroom was in need of a refurb... more

The Mansion Alcazar was more than I expected. The minute you walk through the front door the friendly staff greets you and makes you feel that you're in your own home. We stayed in the Sirena Suite which we found spacious yet intimate. Coincidentally the fabric they used on the wingback chair in the room was the same that I... more

This is one of the most exquisite hotels I've seen, especially for the price. We began our two-week tour of Ecuador in the lovely and manageable city of Cuenca, and our choice of hotel had a larger than normal impact on the quality of the visit. The entire staff was friendly and helpful without reservation. We received excellent recommendations for... more

Oh my gosh! My husband and I felt in love with this hotel! We have been spoiled for life! The rooms are one of a kind, clean, and tastefully decorated. , the restaurant top notch and the service superb! Stay away from hotel Oro Verde and Hotel Crespo. Another nice choice Hotel Santa Lucia. more

Construction work was carried out by the hotel every day and each night - metal cutting, welding, banging, buzzing, inside & out 7.00am till 10.30pm. No warning was given at the time of booking; no warning was given on arrival. The scantest of apologies and a request for patience was made after our first complaint. Our patience ran out on... more

after seeing the photos on tripadvisor on this hotel, I was pretty set on booking this hotel, alas they are not very good at responding to emails, after one response saying a room was available but which type did I want, they didn't respond to my MULTIPLE emails after that given that they only have 14 rooms I finally called... more

My husband, five year old daughter and I stayed here in late June. We were taken with the images and descriptions here on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. Do as others have recommended and book a specific room--we stayed in the Angel Room and were delighted. Not only was the suite enormous with a lovely view of the beautiful... more

Mansion Alcazar is a slice of heaven! The best and most gorgeous hotel in Cuenca (when passing, I "check-out" others) . The staff was attentive, helpful and very professional, while at the same time fun-loving. The garden is beautiful and the food is top-class. I really want the CD list played in their bar! My only comment would be that... more

What a lovely hotel! I stayed here with my parents and sisters and had a wonderful time. The hotel has been lovingly restored and is beautifully furnished with real style. The quality of the fittings and furnishings are very high and it has a lovely ambience. Some of the rooms are noisier then others as they are on the ground... more

We stayed at the Mansion Alcazar, a meticulously restored mansion right in the historic downtown, for two nights and loved every minute of it. A beautiful lobby, excellent bar/lounge (Manuel can make any drink you can think of), nice rooms, excellent breakfast, a decent restaurant, and an attentive and well-trained staff. We wouldn't think of going anywhere else when we... more
