Lovely hotel with very large spacious room, very clean. We had a very nice look out onto steps and the river. Nicely appointed, excellent breakfast and interesting artwork on the walls. Hotel staff very pleasant and helpful. Centrally located on Calle Largo. One recommendation is to upgrade the bed. Maybe just in our room, but was a bit saggy. Good... More

I so enjoyed staying here. Our room was on the river side, so we had that wonderful sound of water over rocks all the time. Super relaxing. The staff is wonderful, but professional. The restaurant is very nice and the seafood great. If possible, have Angel as your waiter. The hotel itself is full on art and history. The art... More

The hotel is well located, in the centre of Cuenca and on the Street famous for the night life (calle larga). The view on the river is special and the rooms are big and comfortable. The hotel is in colonial style, clean and the staff is friendly. The only aspect that has to be improved is the breakfast, it is... More

I spent one night in this old traditional hotel - location is great and the atmosphere was very pleasant. There is no lift but the staff helped me out with my luggage. The problem is that most rooms are internal, ie windows are on an internal court which is the main lobby and there were people chatting and screaming ALL... More

I stayed at the Hotel Crespo this week for work. It's a nice, quirky hotel, and was very clean. The manager and many of the front desk people were very nice. The hotel is close to the Rio Tomebamba and la Universidad de Cuenca, as well as to the town square, so we had no issues walking places. Some tips:... More

Beautiful marble foyer with ceramic artwork. The staff was friendly and accomidating. Both our room and the restaurant had a wonderful view of the river, and our beds were really comfortable. It was a convenient walk to restaurants and shopping.

Traveling with a friend. I'm currently living here in Cuenca but scheduled a tour that only picks up in el centro. My visiting friend decided to rent a room at the Hotel Crespo so we could be picked up locally. She paid about $130 for a Saturday night. I'm pretty sure we got one of the only rooms with a... More

This hotel was a treat. It is classic older hotel, but they keep it very clean and nice. The staff was very nice and easy to work with. The hotel was safe and had beautiful views of a river. The food was ok, but not great. The city of Cuenca is a place you don't want to miss if you... More

There are better hotels in terms of value for money, but this is a nice place with great location, fantastic views and large rooms. The service is adequate and efficient. It can't be confused with a cozy pension or bed and breakfast place.

Beautiful old style building. Nicely kept and located on the river. Pricey, but worth every penny for a special occasion. We would have liked to stay longer, but not in our budget. CASH will get you a discount.
