Loved to be in this fantastic place. It is much better than the media expected when travelling to Cuenca but be quiet, this Hotel is more than though. Congratulations to all the staff that made us a great stay. more

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Crespo very much. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast that was included was a great touch, especially the fresh fruit and juices. more

Hotel is not too far from the city center. At a leisurely pace, you can walk to the Nueva Catedral in about 15 minutes. Taxis are plentiful and any location in the city costs about $2-$3. Hotel Crespo is on the banks of the Tomebamba River. The rooms are not modern and have 40’s-50’s charm. Our room and bathroom was... more

My friends and I stayed at Hotel Crespo for 4 nights in May of 2008, and it was great. The hotel was very accomodating to us as tourists, and the rooms were very comfortable. We were in the old part of the hotel, but that was not a problem. Our room was fine, and had an amazing view of the... more

Great hotel in a nice quiet part of town near the river. The hotel staff speaks English and are helpful. This is a beautiful hotel with gorgeous wood paneling throughout. The restaurant has a great view of the river and is located close to several tourist sites. more

What a delightful hotel. We were traveling as a family of four and booked two rooms for our stay in Cuenca in December, 2007. We loved the hotel's location for touring Cuenca by foot. Located on Calle Larga, it is close to the city's major museums and most of the other sights (cathedrals, squares, etc) as well as the restaurants.... more

Newly restored, some rooms still being reconstructed (but in the daytime during working hours.) Rooms overlooking the river are quiet and large. Cable t.v., large bathrooms, plenty of hot water and good pressure. High priced ($80) for the area, but comparable in the US would be three times as much. more

Rooms were nice and the staff service was excellent. Also they conveniently have free internet for the guests. Everywhere was relatively walkable in Cuenca, so although it wasn't right in the center, it was still pretty convenient. Our room had a view of the river, which was nice. Breakfast was included in a nice (but dark) dining room. Cable tv...... more

Good news, the much needed street improvements on Calle Larga have since been completed. [Translation: better water pressure!] The hotel has also quietly gone through some interior renovation and upgrades of its own most notably the new double insulated operable italian style windows that open out to the river and street. I was favorably impressed with the tasteful room upgrades... more

Made reservations for four days at Hotel Crespo, checked in first day and was shown a room down several flights of stairs, (hotel built on side of hill over looking the river). The stairs were dark and the halls narrow and dark. At our request we were moved to a street level room. Still narrow dark halls, stained, worn hall... more
