Our 4-night stat at Casa San Rafael was truly wonderful. The entire family that runs this hotel is extremely attentive to all the details in comfort, cleanliness and helpfulness...very classy operation and staying there feels like staying with your very favorite aunt with, perhaps, a better breakfast than your aunt would make! :) We will gladly return at our earliest... We stayed 3 nights, our room was perfectly clean and functional with a rooftop view. It was a great location in Cuenca - easy walk to everywhere and safe in the evenings. The staff were just superb. They spoke great english and were so helpful - we felt like we were family. Thanks for a lovely stay

That boutique hotel is a lovely place in the center of Cuenca. You will feel home the very first moment you get there. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms are cute and clean. Balcony with a nice few to the streets of the old town. And it's really quiet too. Perfect spot for a short or long stay... More

The owners and staff always went out of their way to be friendly and helpful, and they all had warm smiles. The hotel was tastefully decorated and clean. The room, linen, and towels were also clean. English was spoken by the owners and staff. Highly recommend this hotel.

One of the most beautiful places I have every stayed - Casa San Rafael was an exquisite example of the old Spanish colonial grand homes, turned into a hotel. With hand-painted frescoes on the walls, antiques everywhere and convenient and central location, it is a gem! Breakfast (and a good one!!! of fruit, yogurt, fresh fruit juice and eggs and... More

wonderful hotel; the best among the 7 hotels we stayed on this trip through costa rica, panama, colombia and ecuador; right in the center of old town Cuenca - easy walking distance to many points of interest; staff very polite and the owner a very kind gentleman; after we had forgotten to take back our American Express card to pay... Well located nice hotel. Service is amazing. You are in the heart of downtown Cuenca The hotel doesn't have a restaurant but there are may choices around including the restaurant Tiestos that is a must visit in Cuenca...a little expensive (the restaurant) but quite an experience

So happy with our stay at casa San Rafael! Such a charming hotel with very friendly staff and a fantastic breakfast. Hotel is in very original style with a lovely indoor courtyard to eat breakfast. Only slight downside is noise from the road but I expect this to be common across Cuenca. Would 100 percent come back!

Casa San Rafael is welcoming, beautiful, and quaint. The staff is some of the friendliest I've ever met - endlessly patient with questions, excited to help and make recommendations, and kind as the day is long. The hotel itself is beautiful - each room is a little different, but all beautifully appointed. The breakfasts are good and filling and the... More
