This hotel was perfect for us! Its price is totally reasonable, it has a gorgeous historical style, and the staff are fantastic. Best of all-- it has noise-proof windows, which are necessary for the noisy streets in Cuenca! Amazing location for walking to all the historic sights, too. We loved it!

Working as a planner in the meetings industry, I stay at a wide range of hotels - from 3 star to 5 star. This hotel, is now one of my favorite hotels on the planet, and it's largely down to the level of service and amazing hospitality, something that's largely disappearing from our busy and corporate world. When we booked... More

I cannot begin to express how highly I think of this hotel. It is a gem located in the heart of the historic district of Cuenca. The owner Henry and staff go above and beyond to give you an amazing stay. Each person is friendly and helpful working hard to keep the hotel beautiful and immaculate. I also highly recommend... A well restored/renovated building in the centre of the old town of Cuenca. The hotel has recreated an old world atmosphere and ambience and has done it in a very nice style. Our room was very comfortable with it's balcony overlooking the street. It was also appreciated that we could close the large shutter and seal out the street noise... More

This is a great place to stay in Cuenca. It is an attractive hotel with nice rooms that avoids some of the pitfalls of other places -- i.e. the shower has hot water. The breakfast was excellent. The staff was helpful. It's conveniently located near the historic district. Prices are good. We highly recommend.

We stayed a couple of nights and we couldn't be happier, the place is impecable clean, the decor is beautiful, the rooms very confortable and the bathroom shower is to die for. Paulo, the manager was extremely helpful and friendly as well as the rest of the staff. I would definitely be back on my next stay in Cuenca which... More

Super cute, great breakfast, right in the downtown old part of Cuenca. This hotel is moderately priced, and although located in an old colonial style building, it has been nicely renovated. Perfectly clean. After a long day of travel, it was a welcome relief to find such a comfortable place to stay. Bonus -- the homemade chocolates were divine!!

After a less-than-ideal experience with our first hotel in Cuenca, we ended up at Hotel Los Balcones and we couldn't have been happier. The entire hotel, as you may have guessed, is rooms with balconies. There are probably 12 total and we were on the upper floor. Our room was clean and comfortable, and there was WiFi. All of the... Hotel Los Balcones provided one of the warmest welcomes I've ever had. The staff is absolutely superb and have the best interest of the guest at heart. The beds (I stayed in two different rooms) were very comfortable and a treat after walking the accommodating streets of Cuenca all day. When I return, I no doubt will be checking in... More

Manager suggested a taxi ride up the mountain pass. Hostess arranged with driver who couldn't believe that it would be cold up there. We enjoyed the ride and hiking on top of the world in rain and wind but still a fun trip around the lake. Market was interesting and churches were very nice. Hotel was very cool with room... More
