We stayed here for 4 nights and found it to be exactly what it was advertised as. The owners welcomed us in at 1am, showed us to a clean, comfortable basic private room for $10 per person per night. We booked online through a booking website, paid a $3.00 deposit which was honoured. We had a shared bathroom that were... More

One of the most beautiful and friendly hotels/hostels i have ever had the pleasure to stay in. I saw no sign of the troubles that some others have reported on here. The staff were bright and bubbly and enthusiastic about helping us, the rooms were lovely, and the atrium courtyard was unexpected and beautiful. I think we paid $12 ea... More

I find some of the commentaries of other guests quite unfair because we had a good time here . It's very cheap for what it proposes. It's quiet hotel in the animated center of Cuenca with a green courtyard full of plants and trees who looks a bit like Frida Kahlo's house.its very clean also and we can use the... More

We would advise you to think twice before setting foot in this hostel. We have been travelling for 2 years non-stop and worked in the industry for 25 and have never seen so dishonest and rude people. One of the most important things we learn in the service industry is that the first image is the important one to showcase... More

When we arrived at 3 pm, they didn't know exactly what to do with us, although we had a reservation. They said there was a party and they are not ready with the rooms. Okay... that can happen we thought, easy we wait. They cleaned the room where we moved in, but they said we will have to change the... More

We stayed here for a night and had no problems with it at all. The staff were very accommodating and enjoy the guests company. Laundry service was good, great kitchen, huge TV area, great courtyard, clean bathrooms, hot water, rooms came with towels and soap, comfy beds, secure rooms, wifi was good, and most of all close to the main... Enjoyed staying at the villa del Rosario for 2 nights in September..the courtyard is beautiful with plants and trees (and the occasional humming bird!), rooms were clean and spacious...it's a nice quiet location just a few minutes walk from the main plaza..the owners were friendly and were happy to provide/suggest anything when required...quite a charming place to stay for a... This hostel has a nice charm with its courtyard area. The staff were discrete but efficient and very friendly when I needed to interact with them. There is a small kitchen and TV area, which I didn't use. Wifi was good in my room upstairs and I had hot water in the shower (more in the morning than evening). Apart... More

I wrote one of the first glowing reviews of this hostel when it first opened. On the positive side, it is actually cleaner now (the floors I forgot to mention in 2011 were dirty) and the hot water is now very stable and plentiful (though there is hot water for the showers only, not the sinks). It is pretty as... More

First of all, if you have never been to Cuenca you would not understand the total meaning of my title. Quiet is relative, of course, but almost impossible in Cuenca because of the constant traffic and street noise and nature of Ecuadorians. Even though the courtyard is open to the outside the noise here is greatly diminished and the owners... More
