Great spot in the city. I gave it a four star because for the price including breakfast you can't beat it. It's close to everything, very clean, very comfortable. It has a large bathroom. Hot water was ok. The restaurant downstairs makes it very convenient. If you don't like noise, stay near the back, bring earplugs. Iv'e already booked for... More

I stayed here two nights in a private room, private bath on the main floor. This place is better as a hostel as the ambience and clientele are more hostel-oriented. However, for $20 my room was clean, although it smelled musty with an overlay of a gross, strongly scented toilet deodorizer. The room did not have any outside windows, only... More

We stayed in a 3 bed room (one in a loft accessible by ladder, which was fine for our son), and it was cleaned daily and beds made. Bar was active at night but not loud enough to interfere with sleep. Breakfast included each am had hot coffee/tea/milk, juice of the day (which was always fresh prepared) and choice of... More

We stayed there for 3 nights. The staff was always very nice to us, but they were only focused on attending the restaurant. It was more like renting a small apartment than a hostel. Also, since it's a restaurant/bar, there is music, and noise. So be prepared for that to. If you get one of the rooms in the back... More

This place is located right above a very popular restaurant / bar, and therefore always noisy. On the bright side, you can always go down for a good wine, which is rare in these parts of South America. The cheapest dorm is small and just opening the door wakes everyone up. Only 1 shower! Internet works in the corridor, not... More

I stayed in the 6 bed dorm for two nights. Considering the cleanliness of the bed, location, and the price (7 usd/night), it was a good choice in town. Many people complained about the noise in the hostal. This can be a problem if you stay in those rooms right above its restaurant. But the 6 bed dorm happen to... More

Other than concerns about noise at night, we absolutely loved this hostal! The red room, which had 5 beds, was wonderfully huge, nice size bathroom, and great shower. Breakfast was sufficient for the needs. Loved the layout of the place, and its unique feel. Beds were made daily, and was always spotless. Had dinner as well there, it was great.... More

This place is a nice to stay in Cuenca. The rooms are clean, and the facilities are great. There is a bar downstairs which is frequented by locals and tourists. The one downside of this place is that it doesn't have a proper lounge to meet fellow travelers who are also staying in the hostel.

We had the private room directly above the bar where they play music all day and well into the night (understandable). They have hot showers, breakfast is included (small, but what can you do), and some of the most UNFRIENDLY staff I've met traveling. They only smile/talk to each other and even when you try to go out of your... More

We came here for a place to stay in Cuenca, but ended up spending every night in the bar/restaurant taking advantage of their excellent happy hour drinks and enjoying the great local/traveller atmosphere. It's true that most rooms are close to the bar and music and chatter can be heard later in the evening, but never unreasonably late. Friendly, hard-working... More
