We use this hotel for visiting teams. Wonderful atmosphere. Peaceful and always smells heavenly with rose pedals floating in the fountain in the courtyard. The staff is friendly and helpful. Location is perfect too to be close to Centro. Shopping, restaurants, museums, cathedrals are nearby.

We really enjoyed our stay at the "eagle's house". Settings are great in a colonial house with a fountain and candles at night. Staff was very friendly and professional, speaking English and French Rooms were very clean and the bed was super comfortable (queen size, not the usual small double bed). Breakfast was good and changed everyday, with some days... More

This lovely hotel provided everything we needed - comfort, location, and Ecuadorian hospitality! There is no better place to stay in Cuenca. The staff was friendly and were always able to assist us with any questions. The clean rooms had a great shower with chocolate shampoo!

When family came to visit me in Cuenca in April 2014, I searched for some time to find the right hotel for them to stay in. I finally selected Casa del Aguila, and was very glad I did. My family loved the atmosphere--a true colonial gem of a mansion turned boutique hotel, strategically located close to Plaza San Sebastian and... More

We were amazed the moment the front door opened to the Hotel. We saw the inner courtyard with the fountain full of rose petals, and then our beautiful suite with antique furniture, romantic bed, roses, and other complimentary indulgences. Located only four blocks from the central area of downtown Cuenca, we were able to walk all over as we went... More

I stayed at this lovely hotel two weeks ago. The staff were most helpful and the hotel is a lovely old house is central Cuenca. The rooms albeit basic, are clean and comfy and the shower wonderfully warm! I would have no hesitation in staying here again in the future.

This was a lovely restored old hose very close to the old part of town and centrally located to all the sites. The chocolates, wine and roses were a very welcoming touch. The staff were very helpful including suggestions of restaurants all of which we tried and found exceptional. The breakfast was varied and good.

I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Case del Aguila with my girlfriend while on holiday. Unfortunately, we had to cut it short because of a medical situation, but Daniella (front desk) was fantastic in helping us call the airline, put me in touch with the right people, and accommodate our needs. The location was clutch as it was close... More

We stayed two nights at Hotel Casa del Aguila which is a restored colonial mansion. It's only a few blocks from the New Cathedral so the location was very good. Accomodations were comfortable, we loved the shower. It had such great water pressure. Our room had a balcony overlooking the city. Parking was across the street. The staff was accommodating.... We stayed 2 nights and found everything to be perfect. Hot showers, comfortable bed, friendly service, good breakfast, strong coffee, wifi, great location not to mention a very charming building. An oasis away from the street.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Is located in a pictorial colonial-style building, which takes us back to a time full of tradition and magnetism in Cuenca. Located in one of the most beautiful places of the Historical center, the most important attraction is the diversity of all elements spread in its common areas and the magnificent conservative details in its decoration, which provide a different personality to the hotel. ... more   less
