Within walking distance to the main plaza (about 4 blocks) this rustic and charming Casa is a good place to spend some nights. One note of caution, request a room away from the street, it is terribly noisy otherwise. We had the suite facing the street with enormous high ceiling and nice decor, however the shower stall in the corner... More

What a lovely surprise when we arrived in Cuenca after a long 24 hour day of traveling. From the outside you would never know how pretty it is on the inside. A charming hotel in a remodeled classical home with a center courtyard and lovely patio where we enjoyed breakfast. Everyone was especially helpful especially Daniela who spoke fluent English.... We had a very nice three night stay in this very charming hotel. The staff from the front desk, housekeepers and breakfast cook is very attentive and personable. Being first time visitors to Cuenca, the desk provided us good directions for any service we needed. The breakfast was all that we could expect...eggs, yucca, sausage, bacon, toast, rolls, cereal, ham,... More

The Hotel Casa Del Aguila was a nice place to stay in a city we just did not care for. The front desk was helpful on arrival and throughout our three-night stay. The room was a bit tight, though comfortable enough. The internet was spotty. Breakfast was good and typical of most offered at similar South American hotels of the... More

What an overused phrase on Tripadvisor, "Undiscovered Gem." But this place is the real thing. It is a small inn in a restored townhouse. If you like atmosphere, and cool exotic decor, you will love this place. The service is so good -- I really don't think I have had such willingness to help anywhere. I asked the front desk... More

We have been in Ecuador for 4 months now and this hotel is the best we have stayed at yet. The room (#11) was large with 3 beds. The shower was nice and the water was SUPER HOT with strong pressure. Small items that you will read about in all the reviews such as chocolate shampoo/conditioner, bottled water provided, etc.... More

Quiet, rustic style, comfortable, reasonably priced hotel in a great location just a few blocks from the main square. Rooms have safes, which I consider is almost a necessity these days, but unfortunately there are still too many places without them! Free WiFi. Breakfasts were OK, if nothing special. Pleasant and helpful staff.

we had a wonderful stay at Casa del Aguila. The staff is so friendly and really helped make our trip memorable by suggestion itineraries and off-the-beaten-path trips we would enjoy. They reserved some day trips for us and we can easily say that some of our nicest memories from Ecuador were from Cuenca and having stayed in this hotel! The... More

This was our first visit to Cuenca and we really didn't know what to expect. The hotel is situated on a busy, narrow street within easy walking distance of the older part of Cuenca with shops, historical buildings and churches and cathedrals galore. We've visited many countries in Europe and stayed in some quaint hotels and inns and I have... More

This is the fourth Ecuadorian hotel we have stayed in and by far the best. Yes we paid a little more but only $15 US a day. It just blows the other hotels we stayed in away --it is a class act. Our room is great and spacious, good beds, large marble bathroom and a private outside patio.with a view... More
