We only spent one night but the location is perfect for walking El Centro. It seemed very safe as you have to buzz to have the staff let you into the hotel no matter what time of day. On the other hand we have never felt unsafe in El Centro. It appears to be one or several restored mansion(s) /... More

This hotel is fantastic. It has a rustic feel to it, yet also modern at the same time. We had a room with a window view of the capulas of the Catedral Neuvo. The staff was extremely helpful and polite, the breakfast was delicious. The room was wonderful, and I enjoyed the funky front door to the room with it's... More

We just spent a few nights at this hotel in downtown Cuenca. It is in a restored spanish style mansion. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Location was great and the manager, Cynthia, was lovely. She was super helpful, spoke English beautifully and gave us fantastic restaurant recommendations as well as activity recommendations. We did everything she suggested and she was... More

As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a beautiful smell in the reception area (honestly you just want to walk back and forth to keep smelling it!). The staff were kind, helpful and courteous. The rooms are quite divine and the entire building has a quirky, courtyard charm, with a bit of turkish luxury thrown in. Amazing... More

We spent 3 nights in March/April in a Suite. It was actually one large room somewhat smaller than advertised in square feet on the net but very nice. Tall ceilings, Large Bed and very comfortable facing the street with a small balcony. This is an old nunnery - a house very old and with issues of constant upkeep but nothing... More

This is a very nice hotel with a warm decoration, It´s an old colonial house that has been very well adapted to be a hotel. Decoration is very nice and provides a cozy athosphere . Along the rooms you have some nice spaces where you can sit, relax and chill. Rooms and bathrooms are very clean. I recomend the higher... More

Casa del Aguila is a lovely hotel in downtown Cuenca. We enjoyed our stay there. The hotel is in an old house with an inner courtyard, with beautiful plants and lots of light. The rooms are very clean and the bathrooms spacious with amazing showers, and chocolate/coffee scented soaps. The service is excellent. Very helpful lobby people, they had excellent... More

We stayed in this hotel for some days and it was always a pleasure to be there. The rooms and the hotel is very clean, I've never seen in a hotel of this class that the personal was cleaning everything (including all the hidden areas, e.g. between the guardrails). Breakfast will be offered as buffet and you get every days... More

Casa del Aguila is located a few blocks west of the new Cathedral, an easy 5 minute walk. If you're coming from the airport, it is a $2-$3 taxi ride to the hotel. The hotel is located on Mariscal Sucre street which is a one way going east street, so instruct the taxi driver to go west to Esteves de... More

This is a beautiful small little hotel located in a nice street five blocks away from the center of town. It is housed in a 200 year old mansion and most of the rooms are facing an inner courtyard.
