Kookaburra is such a nice place to stay. The owners and staff are very helpful, the room was very clean and stocked with milk, water, coffee, silverware and some mugs and dishes for us to use. Chris took us to our room, explained everything to us, even how to use the shower to get maximum hot water (bathroom was great... More

We stayed three nights at the Kookaburra and couldn't have been happier. Chris and Jenny are excellent hosts, but make your reservations early, they only have 2 rooms! We had the queen suite upstairs, decorated in soothing colors, with gentle ambiant lighting. In the mini kitchenette, they thoughtfully provided coffee, teas, fresh milk for coffee, bottled water (although Cuenca's water... More

We had three wonderful nights here in September 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The apartments were perfect and Chris and Jenny are fantastic hosts! Breakfasts are fantastic, as is all the food in the cafe so it was hard to not have lunch there too! Beds are comfortable and bathrooms are spacious, clean and reliable. The apartment area is... There simply can't be a better place to stay in Cuenca than the Kookaburra. Our accommodation was a simple, delightful suite opening to a charming courtyard shared only with scrappy hummingbirds. The Cafe is a buzzing ex-pat hub open four days a week. Although it was closed for all but two hours of our stay, I relished reading in the... More

The central location, very comfortable, private suite and the invaluable help offered by owners Chris and Jenny made us immediately feel at home. We chose Kookaburra after reading all the positive reviews in Trip Advisor and they were spot on. Loved the yummy... More

Our stay there was just very pleasant. Everything was perfect : welcome, advices, breakfast, bedroom decoration, kitchen in the room (with tea, coffee and potable water), heather (very rare in Ecuador!), localisation in the historic city center ... Just no negative remarks everything was so great !!!!! Thank you again to Jenny and Chris for this very enjoyable stay !!! More

I spent 3 weeks in Cuenca doing a Spanish immersion. I spend an entire afternoon looking for a hotel for my husband and I to stay at when my immersion program finished. Kookaburra Cafe and Accomodation was nicer than any of the hotels I checked out, and it was much more reasonable in price. The rooms are quiet and so... More

My husband and I spent 5 nights at Kookaburra's and found it a very pleasant. The accomadations consist of 2 apartments, we stayed upstairs and ours consisted of a small kitchenette and dining area, a bedroom with a very comfortable bed, and a large bathroom with a shower with lots of very hot water, in other words perfect. The rooms... More
