Opening the window and beholding the grass-lined Tomebamba river, I realized we had made the right choice. For our first time to Cuenca we were looking for an authentic and comfortable experience. We also wanted to stay somewhere close to the heart of this beautiful city. Of all the hotels where my lady and I could have spent a wonderful... More

The Villa Nova Inn and the staff made our stay in Cuenca feel like we were among friends and family. I am listing what few cons there were simply to give the reader an honest impression. Do note that the pros far outweighed them and that is why the overall rating given was a five. The Cons: 1. The shower enclosure... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the Villa Nova. The sound of the river was great, and we liked being so close to el centro without being in it. The staff was accommodating and helpful, and our rooms were clean and comfortable. Our kids liked it a lot, too.

I was planning on staying for 3-4 days and wound up staying 6. Bill the manager is very nice and welcoming. The rooms are pleasant though some renovations are planned in the future. I'd avoid room #3 only because the noise from the bar/restaurant carries into it but otherwise is nice and basic. The rooms in the front overlook the... More

My wife used a third-party internet service (expedia.com) to book a room for one night; upon check-in we were told there was no reservation. Our reservation had been guaranteed with a credit card. The hotel general manager did draft a letter absolving us of all financial penalties for not staying the night, even though the hotel cancelled the reservation. Very... More

I stayed at the Vlila Nova one evening as it was the perfect spot, right on the river overlooking the river and Parque de la Madre. The rooms were great but the service was exceptional - Bill, Deloss and Webster made my trip ten times better. Great bar, great service, great breakfast, value for money and a prime spot to... More

We had a wonderful time at the Villa Nova. It is located in an ideal part of Cuenca, right on the River, and we could hear it rushing over the rocks day and night, which was very soothing to us. The service was absolutely wonderful, and the Manager and staff always very helpful and responsive. The rooms are not luxury,... More

The location of the Villa Nova Inn is superb. Just a short walk up the stairs and you are 3 blocks from the old city center. The hotel itself is located on one the 4 rivers that run through town making a pleasant backdrop for the newly renovated patio space. The accommodations of hot showers, fast and reliable internet and... More

I went to Cuenca from Playas to meet up with a friend I had not seen in a couple years - from the heat to the neat. She was staying at the Villa Nova Inn so that's where I went. It is a small Inn overlooking the Rio Tomebamba and Parque de la Madre. The area around the Inn is... More
