We stayed four nights in this large, historic home of the Ordonez family, which has been lovingly renovated by a member of the family. The wooden floors and fittings sparkle with polish, and modern touches like the extra glass door at the entry keep out the noise of the busy street outside. The staff is professional and helpful, and the... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in Cuenca. It's a lovely family run hostel. The included breakfast is top notch - fresh juice, coffee, eggs, yogurt and fruit, and toast. The rooms are very charming although the bed is very close to the wall and I bruised my leg on the sharp corner of the wooden bed frame 3 times.... More

Casa Ordonez was beautiful. Alberto, Edwin and staff made us feel very welcome. They helped us with both local transport and further afield. Breakfast was lovely, the rooms very clean and comfortable. Well worth a visit. The Ashcroft family

Casa Ordoñez is downtown near the main square (Parque Abdon Calderon). It’s a great location for walking around town though not so great for driving. The building was originally someone’s (very large) home with a center courtyard which is now used for reception and meals. The rooms are on the floor above. The floors are wood with that old “creakiness”... More

We stayed 5 nights at Casa Ordonez. This family run hotel is located in walking distance of all attractions in Cuenca. Our room (Julia) was spacious and clean but with very creaky wooden floors. The bathroom was very small but with good hot water and water pressure. There was one window in our room overlooking the street below, we encountered... More

From the very first second my wife and I stepped into the over 100 year old Casa Ordonez I knew it would be a great experience. The Owners are family and treat you as though you are one of them without the awkwardness. They are fluent in English which makes communication very easy and also can recommend an English speaking... My husband and I stayed for three nights during this past Easter at Casa Ordoñez and regreted not staying longer. The place is a jewel of the colonial architecture in Cuenca, very well preserved inside and outside, with an excellent location to visit the city. The owners, Alberto and Inés Ordoñez, as well as the rest of the staff, were... More

This place is absolutely marvelous. It's a 125 year old building, held by the Ordonez family for 108 years! It has been lovingly restored by the current Alberto Ordonez. He and his staff are first rate, and take care of each and every guest as if they were family. Food terrific, location amazing (a 5 minute walk to Plaza Calderon,... More

A recent vacation to Ecuador to visit friends in Cuenca and Salinas was high lighted by our stay at the Casa Ordonez. The ownew, Alberto Ordonez and his staff couldn't have been warmer of more generous. The hotel has been in the Ordonez family for almost two hundred years. The old Spanish architecture , courtyard for breakfast cooked by Alberto... More

My wife and I stayed -- very contentedly -- at Casa Ordóñez for three weeks in February. It was our home base for exploring Cuenca and surroundings. As I write this, there are already 281 reviews of the hotel here, and it's been hard to think of anything new that a 282nd review could say. The reviews are full of... More
