We stayed 5 nights at Casa Ordonez. This family run hotel is located in walking distance of all attractions in Cuenca. Our room (Julia) was spacious and clean but with very creaky wooden floors. The bathroom was very small but with good hot water and water pressure. There was one window in our room overlooking the street below, we encountered... More

From the very first second my wife and I stepped into the over 100 year old Casa Ordonez I knew it would be a great experience. The Owners are family and treat you as though you are one of them without the awkwardness. They are fluent in English which makes communication very easy and also can recommend an English speaking... My husband and I stayed for three nights during this past Easter at Casa Ordoñez and regreted not staying longer. The place is a jewel of the colonial architecture in Cuenca, very well preserved inside and outside, with an excellent location to visit the city. The owners, Alberto and Inés Ordoñez, as well as the rest of the staff, were... More

This place is absolutely marvelous. It's a 125 year old building, held by the Ordonez family for 108 years! It has been lovingly restored by the current Alberto Ordonez. He and his staff are first rate, and take care of each and every guest as if they were family. Food terrific, location amazing (a 5 minute walk to Plaza Calderon,... More

A recent vacation to Ecuador to visit friends in Cuenca and Salinas was high lighted by our stay at the Casa Ordonez. The ownew, Alberto Ordonez and his staff couldn't have been warmer of more generous. The hotel has been in the Ordonez family for almost two hundred years. The old Spanish architecture , courtyard for breakfast cooked by Alberto... More

My wife and I stayed -- very contentedly -- at Casa Ordóñez for three weeks in February. It was our home base for exploring Cuenca and surroundings. As I write this, there are already 281 reviews of the hotel here, and it's been hard to think of anything new that a 282nd review could say. The reviews are full of... More

This is our second time to stay at Casa Ordonez; the first was for five days in 2013. This time we are staying here while looking for an apartment to live in for a six-month visit to Ecuador. Alberto and his staff have provided much more than a comfortable, clean and centrally-located place to stay. The breakfasts are wonderful and... More

Alberto & his family have done a wonderful job retaining he beautiful original aspects of their 100+ year old home while updating & adding modern conveniences. My partner and I stayed at the Casa Ordonez for five nights in early March, and we were very impressed by everything this small boutique hotel has to offer. The hotel enjoys a fabulous location in the historic center of the city. Parque Calderon, the central plaza, is a two-block walk and many wonderful restaurants are within easy walking distance....
