There are standard requirements to qualify for an excellent hotel. For a top rating this unpretentious hotel does not need 5 stars with a concierge, valet parking, fitness centre/gym and no beauty spa neither services such as a casino, lounge or fancy restaurants, nightclub or a football ground sized swimming pool. What matters at Casa Ordonez is Its charisma, historic... More

Wonderful "Colonial" style hotel in the center of Cuenca. Walking distance to all major attrections. Family owned and operated. It's been in the family for over 100 years. Highly recommend a stay here. You are not treated as a guest but as part of the family.

We spent 5 nights in Casa Ordonez around Christmas 2014. The place deserves a straight A. The adobe style building has tasteful guest rooms and common areas, everything is in perfect shape and the breakfast is really tasty (your options are fruit, eggs, yoghurt, waffles etc.). The building is perfectly situated and only 2 Minutes walk from the main square.... More

We first stayed at Casa Ordonez after a friend recommended it to us in 2010. Since then we've stayed on many other occasions over the past 4 years, as we spend a lot of time in Cuenca. What we like about this hotel is the friendliness and total knowledge the staff has about all things Ecuador - from great places... More

Old world charm, quiet, recent tasteful restoration of a legacy family home, lovely rooms, excellent breakfast, close to everything that counts in Cuenca, friendly competent helpful staff, and a gregarious walking Cuenca encyclopedia owner. The interior is beautiful Spanish 19th century style but with modern conveniences and speedy WiFi. Half expected to see Zoro leap from the balcony! Definitely a... More

My husband and I stayed here for a week, and loved it. It had everything you could ask for in a hotel: old world character and charm, blissfully quiet, comfortable beds, reliable hot showers with great water pressure, best breakfasts in town, and very convenient location in the historic center of the city. Best of all were the warm and... More

We stayed nearly two weeks and loved every minute. Breakfast was creative and a delight every day. Not sure about the prior review regarding "shhhing", the hotel is open in the middle and if you are in a room close to the breakfast service, you would appreciate calm in the early morning. We did not experience any limits to our... More

This is a great hotel. Staff is excellent. Alberto will help you arrange a tour. Breakfast is a little late at 730. It is great quality however the shhhing with the finger motion and the inability to hear the staff in the morning is really overdone. I found that every annoying. You should be able to order without sign language.... More
