STAY AT THIS HOSTAL Why you might ask? Casa de Ordonez is the asolulute best hostal that I know of in Cuenca. Alberto, the owner will arrange any and everything to make your stay enjoyable, or let you explore on your own. He is an incredible resource. The Hosal is centraly located (El Centro), for excursions on foot to the... More

Saying that Casa Ordonez is merely an authentic Patrimonio Bed and Breakfast in the heart of El Centro is like saying that Cuenca is merely a travel stop in Ecuador. It is not. Casa Ordonez is a place to call home for your stay as you investigate this wonderful city. The accommodations feel real and not sterile like the big... More

We stayed here in August of 2014 and couldn't have had a nicer stay. Cozy, comfortable room, great, great service, wonderful breakfasts, and so close to everything you want to see in historic Cuenca. We would return again. Great value too! Don't hesitate to book it!

My wife and I stayed at the Casa Ordonez in July 2014 for three nights. We had an outstanding experience. Our bedroom was comfortable and quiet. The breakfasts were excellent. A lounge with TV/DVD and books was really appreciated on our only rainy afternoon in Cuenca. Most important, the staff -- mostly members of the same family -- were extremely... More

My wife and I spent six nights here in May; we wish it could have been longer. The location is excellent, the 'casa' is charming, the breakfasts delicious, and the hospitality warm and inviting. The rooms are clean and well attended to. It was just what we were looking for: not a hotel, but a home away from home. This... More

Casa Ordonez is located 2 blocks from Plaza Calderon right in the heart of Cuenca. The proprietors have owned the house for generations. My wife and I stayed in the Julia room (the rooms are all named for members of the multi-generational family) with private bathroom. The mattress and bedding were modern, new-ish, and comfortable. Some other elements of the... More

We loved staying at the Casa Ordonez. It is a short walk to the Main Square and the action, but located perfectly so that we did not hear any night noise. The staff at the Casa Ordonez were extremely welcoming and helpful. The Casa is an old building with an interesting layout. Our room had a walkout to one of... More

This hostal is quite different from any other places that I've stayed at. I've traveled quite a bit and stayed at a range of bed and breakfasts, hostels and hotels. It has a unique and homey feel with bedrooms on the second floor and a large dining area on the ground floor. The roof is window paned that give it... More

Only a couple of blocks from the main square in the Central part of town. A friendly family run hotel where you get to know everyone and can get help when needed. Rooms are old, but comfortable. Some of the newer, nearby hotels are more modern but that wasn't an issue for us. We ended up extending our stay by... More

Casa Ordonez is truly a family run Inn in Cuenca. Grandmother, aunt and nephew are all available to assist with anything you should need. We had a lovely, spotless room that opened onto a courtyard as many do in Ecuador. The beds were clean and comfortable. We were promised ( and they delivered!) piping hot water in the shower. Breakfast... More
