We found this to be a charming and very comfortable hotel in a fantastic location right in the middle of the old town area. It is only a few minutes walk from the President's Palace and in the other direction, less than 10 minutes to the Basilico church. The staff were so helpful. We had to leave at 4 am... More

We stayed here two times. The first time our room overlooked the lobby, which was a negative as we could hear everything in the lobby. For example, I could hear the phone ring every time. I would only stay here if you can get a room not overlooking the lobby as those rooms are too noisy. So I would rate... More

For $170 + dollars a night you expect more than just a bed and breakfast and tiny room and bathroom. Issues: Some rooms a tiny (and you still pay full price) Some bathrooms are smaller than airport toilet stalls and feel old The common areas feel cramps The wireless internet does not work in all rooms Everything from TV, bathrooms... It's got just the right amount of old charm, mixed in with great service and only a few blocks from Plaza Grande which is in the heart of Old Town. We were really happy we picked this hotel and would not hesitate to recommend it. Considering it's central location, the price was really good!

We stayed at this hotel for one night on Nov 1, 2013. The room was small but comfortable and immaculate. The service provided by the hotel staff was over the top outstanding. We arrived late in the afternoon and asked if they could arrange for a taxi the next morning at 4:30 AM to make an early flight to the... More

We stayed at Hotel Relicario del Carmen for 3 nights this month and loved it. It's an incredibly quiet and safe hotel in the middle of Quito's old town, and just a 5 minute walk from the basilica at the top of Calle Venezuela. The rooms are small but comfortable. The bathrooms are very small! The hotel is the former... More

This is our third stay here as we venture out to different parts of Ecuador. It has been a perfect little oasis for us. The attention to detail and the fastidious cleanliness are all done imperceptibly. Tis hotel is a perfect base to explore Old Town Quito and makes a phenomenally quiet escape when the day is done. The staff... More

This hotel is fantastic! They paid attention to every detail. It was lovely, and a great place to rest. They provided a library with wi-fi and several books about the area. Attentive service, they cooked us breakfast every morning and, as is common in Ecuador, fresh juice from local fruits. This was an excellent location, just two blocks from Plaza... More

First stayed here in May 2008 and again April 2013. Wow, same fantastic ambience, comfort, quality and luxury, even the same wonderful doorman, Alfonso. The hotel´s owners have spared NO expense whatsoever in making this boutique hotel one of the most delightful and safest places to stay in the old town of Quito. This is a tightly run business, everything... More

We stayed in this hotel for 7 nights for a work trip, and the hotel was a delight. Not your typical business hotel (ie no business centre or gym) but felt much more traditional, and was fantastic being in the heart of the old town, so we could walk around in the evenings and get a feel for the city....
