This Hotel is well located in the historic center. Staff very helpful and hospitable. The Hotel is well maintained and clean. Good size room. The wifi was ok and a great help for us to make a reservation for the next hotel in Cuenca.

My husband and I, arriving from Atlanta, spent one week at Relicario del Carmen in October of 2014 and had a wonderful stay. We recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to discover an outstandingly charming and historic gem and immerse themselves in true Ecuadorian hospitality! The hotel is a beautifully, lovingly restored mansion filled with interesting antiquities as... More

The hotel hides behind a plain blue metal door, so it is rather like finding a delightful, unexpected present when someone opens it for you. Originally a grand house built in the eighteenth century, it retains the charm of a special old place, but it is fully modernized and very comfortable. You feel as if you've been given the privilege... More

My husband and I stayed at El Relicario del Carmen 8 days, and it really enhanced our stay in Quito. The accommodations were comfortable, the decor beautiful and unique, the staff friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts delicious. Would stay there again, and highly recommend.

Stayed here for a couple days before going to the Galapagos. The hotel is in the historic district right by a main square, which made it a very good location. It's old mansion with lots of character. The staff was so wonderful. We were able to keep our heavy bags here during our excursion. Also, a block away is the... More

The first thing to say about this place is at is a tad difficult to locate. While it is on a major street in the centre it is hidden behind a big blue door. But it is like slipping into an oasis when you go in. The owner has a clear penchant for collecting unusual pieces of furniture and memorabilia.there... More

We only stayed here for one night and arrived late at night. It was quiet, nice, and we had a really delicious breakfast. Fresh orange juice, huge selection of tea, eggs, yogurt, breads, etc. Can't give advice on location, etc. since we were just here over night.

The hotel is very well located in Quito old town, in a nice old colonial house, beautifully decorated. The rooms are smallish but convenient and good value, with good breakfast. I would consider the hotel an excellent cost/benefit relation. The only problem is how to reserve the hotel. First I sent a e mail to the hotel, but it was... More

We recently stayed in this moderately-priced historic hotel for two nights before and one night following our trip to the Galapagos. We could not be more pleased. The location, a five-minute walk from the main plaza, is excellent. While caution is always advisable in Quito, we were comfortable in the area near the hotel. From the outside the hotel is... More

This hotel is owned and managed by a charming couple of Ecuadorian and Swiss nationality. It is lavishly furnished and decorated in the Ecuadorian style and makes you feel like a guest in a wealthy home of the Spanish conquistadores. The personnel is friendly and helpful and attends to you if you have special wishes. Rooms and especially the cupboards... More
