We stayed on and off for about two weeks. -This is a great base for other places you want to visit, as you can leave your bags in storage for free! Bonus! -The building is beautiful and you can get a good view of the old town from the top terrace. -As others have mentioned, this is not the hotel... More

The San Francisco Hotel´s room are all unique. Be prepared to climb several flights of stairs if you book a honeymoon suite which is difficult due to the high altitude affecting breathing in Quito. The breakfast is minimal and if you want fruit you have to request it otherwise you will get a roll, eggs and coffee. The hotel is... More

Nice place in Old Town area within walking to many beautiful historic attractions. Priced reasonably cheap and certainly competitive, we stayed 4 days there in October 2011 prior to heading to other cities. It was a perfect choice especially since the roads were closed to motor traffic through the weekend. We stayed in the honeymoon suite and despite it being... More

Pros: amazing location in old-town Quito. Easy walking distance to nearby attractions. Solid and quick breakfast service. Hotel staff was extremely nice and helpful. Cons: VERY small rooms. WiFi spotty (at best) and would not work in our room. Side note: Fireworks (not the hotel's doing) made for some very tough nights sleep but overall the hotel is surrounded by... More

My fiancee and I stayed at the hotel on our honeymoon in April. We found the location to be perfect for exploring all the wonders of Quito's old town on foot. For the money you pay, you get clean and spacious rooms, hot shower, filling breakfast and courteous staff. The hotel building is fairly old and some furniture needs to... More

We toured a number of 3 star hotels in the old town before deciding on this one. Of the 3-stars, it was the best location, quality and value. Know that 3 star hotels in Ecuador can be like Motel 6 or quality inn in the U.S, except that in Ecuador they are usually much cleaner. We stayed in a newer... More

This hotel has a good location and I thought is was good value for money. I can't comment on the breakfast as I always left to early, but I found the staff at the front desk extremely helpful. The room was large enough for the 3 of us, and having the room split over 2 levels allowed for more space... More

We stayed here for a few nights either end of a Galapagos trip, and found it to be well located (although it's impossible to get a cab to the front door on public holidays or on Sundays when they close many of the old city's streets off to vehicles - everyone goes bike riding!) and right next to a small... We stayed there 3 nights in March 1012. Our room was way smaller and plainer than any of the pictures, though the interior courtyard is pretty and the pictures real. The breakfast is plain: eggs, small tasteless rolls, one glass of watery juice, and coffee, period. No choice.Hot water available sometimes, not at others. Location in Old Town is convenient... More

Nice old colonial building in the heart of the old town. Under $50/night for 2 including breakfast. Rooms were clean, hot water after a few minutes wait. Laundry done within a day for a reasonable price. (we ended up paying more because it got ironed, something our limited Spanish didn't catch) Definitely no night life or even many restaurants open...
