I booked my first night in Quito here from the Rough Guide and was really glad that I did. Not only was it just a 2 minute walk from the old town's attractions, but it was quiet, clean and included breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful without being in your face, plus they let me check in at 9.30... more

The hotel l courtyards were pretty and the location near the main plaza was nice. The rooms were very average and many did not have exterior windows. To have any frssh air in our room, we opened a panel above our door that allowed fresh air to come in from the corridor, which was partially open air. I would spend... more

We stayed 2 nights before our Galapagos trip and one night upon return. The hotel really fit our needs which were mostly to have a clean quiet place to stay that allowed us to adventure out on foot to nearby attractions. It's a beautiful, tranquil courtyard style hotel with super friendly and helpful staff. Don't expect modern luxury, but it's... more

I have stayed here many times and the service is the best, prices are great and the location cannot be beat. It is an old colonial home turned into a hotel, so do not expect 5-star accommodations. Some rooms lack windows, hot water is better in some rooms than others, no elevator; but basically clean and comfortable. The atmosphere is... more

Here for a total of six days. No matter how long you run the hot water or what time of day,it is NEVER even warm... barely tepid. Cool showers in a cold climate are no fun. We won't be back. more

This hotel is located in the heart of lovely Old Quito- I have read the recent lukewarm reviews- but we were extremely satisfied with every aspect of our stay at this hotel. We found the hotel to be extremely clean, quiet, roomy and lovely. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We made our reservations via email and... more

The good: Great location, view, and price. Friendly staff minus one. Restaurant has really good food. One of the receptionists, Santiago, was especialy helpful. The bad: Our room was called the "Honeymoon Suite" the most expensive room in the hotel. The bathroom door would not close. The shower offered hot water some of the time. No air conditioning or heating.... more

the building is lovely, the rooms wonderful, the breakfast boring, the location great. However, one guy at the reception was extremely rude and even lied about things so that he would not have to stop watching TV. Furthermore we left something for safekeeping while we went on a 5-day excursion. Upon return, this item had been stolen from the oh-so-safe... more

We stayed three nights. Made reservation via email from the hotel website and had no problems. We asked for and received a room in the back, having read that the rooms closer to reception could be noisy. Our room, while a bit dark, was acceptable. Bed wasn't all that comfortable (a bit saggy in the middle) and the sheets had... more
