My wife and I stayed here on a recommendation from a friend. It's a super quiet place with amazing views. The restaurant was really good and staff bent over backwards to make sure we were taken care of. Two things that I would mention though. The water was warm enough for a shower but not hot enough for a bath.... More

The views are incredible from the upper rooms and the restaurant/grounds. Comfortable bed and attractive furnishings. Lots of lighting in the room. You aren't going to believe this but you can actually take a warmish shower and not have to adjust the temperature every 20 seconds! My shower was at least 5 minutes long [bc I had just come-in from... More

Arrived at the hotel very late, but the staff took care of us making sure we were all set for the night. The darkness kept the full view away from us but when I woke up early the next morning, the view from the bed was something I will never forget. Very clean, spacious rooms. Great comfortable bed. The breakfast... More

My 14 year old daughter and I stayed here for one night near the end of a two week trip to Ecuador. We booked it because it is very close to La Mitad del Mundo; although we did not end up going to the monument. The room was stunning. The furnishings, the giant windows, the cool skylights were all wonderful.... More

My son and I stayed at El Crater just one night. We visited La Mitad del Mundo, only ten minutes away, and we hiked all the way down into the crater of the Pululahua volcano, a truly unforgettable experience. The restaurant at the hotel is excellent and very reasonably priced, with one of the most breathtaking views you can imagine... More

The El Crater offers incredible views and good food in a quiet setting outside of Quito. The restaurant and most rooms offer incredible crater views. Note when we were there the clouds roll in late afternoon. The hotel has a few rooms and there were only two other couples staying the night we were there. Given the location and lack... More

We found this place doing an Internet search. It was like we were the only ones there. The view is just breath taking, just out of this world. We'd go back in a heart beat. Some reviews mention that it's an expensive hotel but that's all about perspective. We aren't wealthy and didn't feel it was at all pricy. There... More

Since my husband and I live in the city we tend to look for quiet places to stay in. That's why we chose El Crater. It is a little further in especially with traffic, but if your looking for relaxation close to the city this is the place for you. I loved its location as well as the view from... More

This hotel has a wonderful view from the deluxe suites. The view even on a cloudy day is interesting. You feel like you are staying in the sky among the clouds when looking out the two wall sized windows. The deluxe suite is large and has all amenities you might need...DirectTV, a bath, king size bed, hot water, small refrigerator... More

We had been staying in Quito for a couple of nights and then went to El Crater Hotel. My husband made the reservation prior to our trip to Ecuador. He requested a view with no trees in the window that would block the view. He also requested for them to have a dozen roses waiting there for me as a... More
