Our family loved Sani Lodge. It was one of the highlights of our 6 weeks in Ecuador. We travelled with a 9 year old and a 12 year old. Our kids got to fish for piranhas in a dugout canoe, and our guide took us to his home in the jungle where his wife cooked them for us. It was... more

I opted for the four day/three night package but in retrospect wish I´d stayed an extra night as there was so much to do and see. Fredy. the bilingual guide, was superb as was our native guide (who was Fredy´s uncle). It´s amazing how much they spot in the jungle with the naked eye even before getting out the binoculars.... more

We spent 3 nights at Sani lodge in July 2009. The lodge is about 3.5 hours east on the Napo River from Coca via a fast (25 mph) motorized canoe. The trip is scenic, but it is hard to see much wildlife as the boat speeds by. You’ll get more chances later. Even in the heat, it can be a... more

My partner and I went to Sani Lodge at the beginning of our stay in Ecuador as we knew we'd need to recover afterwards before returning home - we were right! It is tiring, but SO worth it. The trip there from Quito is a pain until July 09 as you need to fly to Lago Agrio and not Coca,... more

Went to the Sani lodge for a 5 day trip to finish off a trip to Ecuador. Everything was well-planned and worked as we had hoped for. The travel to Coca went smoothly and we were picked up by an English/Spanish speaking guide. The boat trip to the lodge was a great sign of things to come. We were really... more

We had a great time at Sani. We had requested a private guide and paid $120 extra so we could follow our own schedule. We hiked whenever we wanted to, we canoed a lot, we hiked late at night. There were only 8 other guests during the week we stayed. They were all exceptionally nice. The staff was great. It... more

My week at Sani Lodge was magical. The flight arrangements for Quito to Coca went smoothly. An english speaking representative of Sani Community meeting me at the airports making all transfers easy. The boat ride down the Rio Napo was interesting and the first sight of the lodge reflecting in the blackwater lake was picture perfect. I was met by... more

We spent four days in December 2007 at the Sani Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. We were met at the airport in Coca and transported to the river canoe. There were several people that spoke English and everything went smoothly. The food at the lodge was excellent , filtered water is provided and--the hot chocolate was to... more

Sani lodge is a perfect gem that appears suddenly in the Napo River in the middle of a protected rainforest . I felt wrapped in a blanket of nature and was attended to by the kindest people. I was met at the place in coca by a charming fellow Javier who was my personal guide for the entire experience Cared... more

My husband and I stayed at Sani Lodge the first week in September, 07. The staff was courteous and helpful. There was always someone there who spoke English. Several of the natural history guides were young women, one from Chile, another from Holland, I think. They both spoke Spanish, and English. Our native Sani guide, Carlos, was an exceptional birder,... more
