Vieja Cuba is close to the hustle and bustle of Quito but one you go through the gate you wouldn't know it (except that Saturday night when the dance/wedding was going on next door. But people need to have their fun, right?) Daniela and Tatiana always had a smile and were helpful. Mari put a smile on my face every... More

Walking distance to plenty of restaurants and nightlife and the staff are amazingly helpful - advice, taxis etc, nothing is too much trouble for them. Great healthy breakfast to boot. The only downside is it can be a bit noisy as the walls are thin in some of the rooms. You can hear your neighbours easily. Ear plugs recommended, but... More

A small friendly hotel near the old town of Quito. Close to shops and restaurants. Excellent staff nothing seams to be to much bother. Good breakfast of eggs, cereal, ham, cheese, fruit, yoghurt tea & coffee + fruit juice. Room we had was a bit on the small size but this did not detract from our stay. Did not have... More

I stayed here for four nights over a 10 day period in July 2014. I was with a school party of 32 staff and pupils so not the easiest to cater for. We were looked after very well. The hotel is very well situated for local restaurants etc. as well as other attractions. The rooms were very nice and well... More

I'm in Quito quite a lot and this is the only place that I will stay. The staff is very professional and if you need anything they try to accommodate, whenever i need a taxi they make a call and have one there with in 5 minutes. I've seen almost all the rooms and they all are a little different.... More

Hotel Vieja Cuba is a nice hotel and many tourist stay there. The front desk staff speaks English and are courteous and helpful. It is located near shops and restaurants. The rooms are small especially # 1, but #6 is larger and has a balcony.

We stayed here with the family, this is a quite unusual hotel with quirky rooms, lots of wood and interesting design features - definitely not the typical hotel. Great breakfast sets you up perfect for the day and staff very helpful. Hotel is conveniently located near Park Carolina and lots of cafes/restaurants though I would be careful walking around here... My boyfriend and I took our first trip to Ecuador and this was our first hotel in Quito. We stayed here for 2 nights and it was a great experience. Great good location, walking distance to Plaza Foch, $4 taxi ride to Old Town. The hotel had a great ambiance with friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were clean with... More

Stayed 3 nights altogether in this colonial style hotel. Quirky inside, with lots of little nooks and crannies. Good sized rooms with small but clean bathrooms. Staff friendly. Breakfast OK, cereal, fruit, cheese, ham, eggs and toast. Good location, not far from Botanical gardens and only a $5 taxi ride to the Old Town, Basilica, cable car etc.

We stayed two nights here. The rooms were quite small but we were upgraded to a four-bed room when we asked. Wifi worked fine. The restaurant could not offer much food but the staff were very helpful and we could order take-away pizzas to eat in it the first night. Breakfast was good with a good variety to choose from,...
