We booked the Vieja Cuba due to reviews we read and photos we loved. Our room was very small, almost Parisian size. Also, it had no refrigerator. We did like the friendly staff and location near numerous restaurants and bars. But for the cost, I would rate it a poor value.

very clean and good amenities room in the newer end of Quito. Highly recommend as stopover or short term base. Historical centre of Quito is one bus ride away or you may feel happier in a cheap taxi. Plenty of average standard restaurants and cheaper eating places adjacent. Good hotel breakfast; nothing exceptional but more than adequate and a friendly... More

My "go-to" place in Quito.....although too often it's booked! Rooms are comfy, staff friendly and accommodating and Maria brightens every delicious breakfast! It's convenient....close to Supermaxi and not too far a walk from the Artisans Market.

Rooms are small but charming, with lots of little nooks, archways, and wooden shutters. Staff was friendly and spoke good English, though they didn't warn us before putting us in an (expensive) cab ride to Mitad del Mundo that the museum was actually closed for a large government celebration. Breakfast was decent. Beds were alright, but not super comfortable. The... More

We stayed 4 nights in Vieja Cuba hotel. The location in Marscal is very good, there are many restaurants and coffee shops nearby and it is only a $3.50 taxi ride to the historic center. Our room was small but adequate, clean with a comfortable bed. Wi-Fi in our room was ok and it was quiet except when groups leave... More

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel that I chose at random from a list. It turned out to be very conveniently located for what I wanted to accomplish when visiting Quito (combination doctor visit and sight-seeing.) I've paid more for other hotels and gotten worse accommodations. The only two "gripes" were a small, old tube-type TV and a bathroom... More

I travel a lot for business, mainly at the big chains, so when I saw the very positive reviews for this enchanting place I booked it immediately for 9 nights. Every positive review is true, a very nice boutique hotel. Friendliest staff I have ever met. Lots of British travellers travelling onto or coming from the Galapagos. Why they like... More

This is an excellent hotel just a few minutes walk from the central part of the Mariscal. Everything was perfect - friendly greeting on arrival, fast internet (wireless router in each room), comfortable beds, hot showers and the best free breakfast I had in Ecuador (ham, cheese, toast, fruit, yogurt, corn flakes, eggs made to order, coffee & juice). Highly... More

This hotel has it all. Clean rooms with character, friendly staff and in a good location for the new town. They have a restaurant too and the food is basic but good. If you want to be in Old town then it is a little far to walk but a taxi can get you there easily. The hotel can also... More

If you want modern high rise amenities, don't come here. On the contrary, it is colonial, rustic and uncomplicated. I loved it and stayed for 4 nights. OK, so the ceiling was low. Big deal. Guests could see into my room. Shut the curtains. Good nights sleep and a shower to die for. Well cooked wholesome food and polite helpful... More
