We spent three nights at Hotel Patio Andaluz in July, 2008, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is perfect, just a couple of blocks from the Plaza de la Independencia. The hotel is in an old building and the interior spaces are gorgeous. Our room was split level, with a bed on the “ground” floor and another upstairs. This would... more

I stayed here looking to get away from the typical Hilton/Marriott/Sheraton/Swisshotel business trip grind. It is, as everyone has noted, in an INCREDIBLE location. The public spaces of the hotel are also really gorgeous (the foyer, restaurant, bar, etc). BUT, I found my room to be disappointing - there was never enough light and there was no window. I'm sure... more

We had three 1-night stays here and one 2-night. The 4 rooms were reasonably comfortable, tho' we found the split-level room inconvenient. Reception staff were friendly, and very helpful in tracking down a tour operator who had let us down one day. There was a good choice of food for breakfast. We had no other meals there, preferring to eat... more

stayed at this hotel for two nights before & after my galapagos trip, my "tour" company had booked me at the Hilton in Quito but I had a free night before and after the tour so chose to stay here instead I definitely prefer this hotel vs. the Hilton, my room the 1st time around was a split level loft... more

After exploring Quito for many days, I submit that this location is about the best for staying in Quito. Right in the middle of the gorgeous old town, you are in the midst of the historic center of the city. The hotel itself is beautiful. The room was not tremendously comfortable but to stay in a classic old beautiful hotel... more

This hotel is been upgraded and is in the heart of old town. The Hotel is a gem find, and walking distance to most museums, and sites. The rooms are huge, and recommend the suites, have 2 level. The food is good, but there other restaurants in the area that you can walk. There is a nice bar in the... more

We srayed at Patio Andaluz on our way to the Galapagos and on our return. It´s a beautiful old colonial property in teh old town of Quito (your alternatives in new town are the usual high rise Marriot, Radisson, etc). THe property is impeccable, the staff very attentive. Food great plus 2 restaurants you should visit in this area are... more

We arrived here late at night after arriving in Ecuador on our honeymoon. Although we were only to be there a few hours, the room was clean, beautiful and fit in wonderfully with the old style of this area of Quito - we even had giant rosary beads above the bed! Left early after a nice breakfast - staff were... more

We stayed here for 3 nights over Christmas (before and after Galapagos trip) and we were surprised at how cold and noisy the rooms were (compared to Hotel Quito where we stayed the night before). Its a large, old building with no heating and due to the altitude they do experience some cold weather in Quito. Not something I thought... more

I recently returned from a trip to Ecuador over the Thanksgiving holiday, which included a great stay at the Patio Andaluz Hotel. The hotel is located in the heart of the old town, just a few blocks from the plaza grande and many of the historically significant churches and squares. For the special rate I found online (less than $95... more
