My husband and I booked this hostel after reading rave reviews in the Lonely Planet. While the staff was very friendly and the view from the dining area (roof) was fabulous, we found our room walls to be paper thin. The first night we stayed there, we were on the ground floor and heard every single person enter and exit... more

I changed to this hostel from a boring hotel because as a single traveler, it was more fun to meet others here. They do nice dinners, and it's very social. The views are really nice too. See my photos! The downside is that the prices were higher than my single hotel was, my socks were stolen within an hour of... more

I really enjoyed my one night in Secret Garden Quito. The rooms are fine, no frills. We had a private room and shared a bathroom with one other private room (which happened to be empty that night). There are also dorm rooms available. The room was clean and had a safe to use, bed was comfy. The volunteer staff made... more

Well I choose this hostel because of the fine review it received in Lonely Planet. And the view from the top floor was everybit as astounding as in the review. But a few things bothered me. 1. The rooms were quite expensive. 2. There were only 3 computers. That is insane in this internet-age, and at a hostel with that... more

I stayed 1 night at this hostel and I was happy with the value and service. I printed the directions to give to the taxi driver and he delivered me to their door. The hostel is secured so you ring the bell, someone checks the camera and then you will be buzzed in. Head towards the stairs and leave your... more

We booked this hostel for 3-7 nights (but only stayed 3) after Lonely Planet's excellent review and were highly disappointed. We are an easy-going couple who are used to "roughing it". Five floors up find you at reception and the dining area with excellent views of Quito. The staff is made up of volunteers who are kind and mostly attentive.... more

Stayed at this hostel for just one night! liked the atmosphere here and the food. a lot of young people stayed here and this place was highly recommended by the Lonely Planet. Unfortunately the mattress was full of bedbugs and I got bitten really bad. I could not sleep at all, it was so disgusting. In the morning I went... more

Booked this hostel based on a stellar review in the Lonely Planet. What the Lonely Planet failed to mention was how loud it is. If you like to party and you don't mind being woken up all the time by drunken backpackers than this is the place for you. The terrace is beautiful and the ex-pat staff is very nice.... more

Staff was great although all seemed to be reiieved to be finishing their 2 week volunteer obligations. Loved the rooftop. Great tour by Lincoln organized by Paul. Due to safety can only get to and from old town by taxi at night. Our room was broken into, packs cut and clothing stolen. Seems to be a regular occurrence. Housekeeping talks... more

We stayed here due to its high acclaim on multiple websites. We found the atmosphere to be friendly, the food awesome, the services fine, and the location great. The room itself was not particularly clean and the noise caused by people coming and going was a negative. The hot water was inconsistent and be aware that they charge for all... more
